Minesweeper does not work. It just starts and hangs.

Right-click on Minesweeper and click Uninstall.

To reinstall you can search for it with Games or Store, or just start typing the word Minesweeper at the Start menu screen.

UPDATE: After various trubleshooting exercises (e.g. hard-restarting Xbox One and routers) to no avail, I decided to go to a Microsoft store for help. The support person said that 99% of such problems get resolved by reinstalling the game and that they would
need to start troubleshooting with it. I tried to reason that because the game is a digital download copy and gets downloaded signed from the source, the chances of it getting corrupted during transmission is virtually zero, and that in case of a corruption
the game would either not load or crash. However, 30 minutes later after full redownload it just started working perfectly without any previous symptoms.

So, if you have any weird problems with digitally downloaded games - just try reinstalling and see if it solves the issue.

I just tested this again. I logged out of my Xbox Live account and into the generic "Games" account. Minesweeper Adventure mode still works.

But in my Xbox account it does not. I get the green screen for a few seconds and then back to the Start screen. Hovering the mouse in the left hand corner shows Minesweeper running, but if I bring it back it drops back to the main screen.

Adventure is still a no go for me.

I've noticed that the new games for Windows Phone (Mahjong, Minesweeper and Solitaire) have some glitchy achievements. They don't always pop at the right time, but sometimes a bit after.

Personally, for instance, the one for starting a game on a Windows 8 device and finishing on WP8 worked fine in Minesweeper and, eventually, Solitaire, but not Mahjong, despite numerous tries. It popped an hour or so later, during a game that I both started
and finished on my phone.

My advice for this thread would just have been to keep playing Minesweeper and it would probably eventually unlock for you, which clearly worked out.

If you see the same thing in the other games, just keep playing. They seem a little slow, but eventually do unlock.

My Minesweeper Adventure played fine until I tried it today. When I attempt to open it, it will send me back to the start screen of my computer. All other games on Minesweeper work fine. Hope there is an update with solution soon. Thanks.
