    Minecraft's website displays their prices in 2 different currencies (I live in Australia)....


    I don't know why they've done this but it was incredibly annoying to find out. I redeemed a $25 gift card thinking I could pay the $1.99 difference but it turns out, they advertise Java edition in Australian dollars and the Windows 10 edition in US dollars. In fact, I didn't even realise it was in US dollars until it came to putting my credit card details in because it wouldn't let me change the country from the United States. So the proper price for the Windows 10 edition is around $40AUD.

    See below, Java edition is advertised to be $35. It was the edition I looked at first, and so I assumed the next edition would also be in AUD.

    On the same website, Minecraft for Windows is advertised to be $26.99 and to me that added up, because it could afford to be cheaper than Java by making the price difference back through in-game purchases.

    Now I've got $25 sitting in my account that I need to spend before it expires. Damn annoying.

    I wanted to buy this but the game is a rip off if you live in Australia. $20 in the US or $40 AUD in Australia, so its double the price but even when you convert the currencies from USD to AUD it should only cost $25 Australian Dollars.

    Microsoft... MAKE XBOX PROJECT SCORPIO THE BEST CONSOLE!

    It will also release around November too, since Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 launched in November. It will have a good estimated price of US$599. PS4 Pro Sony RRP's the price in NZ for NZ$648. And there isn't much in terms of hardware components pricing to warrant
    Xbox Scorpio being any more expensive than US$599 so expect it to cost $899 at worst!, in Australia and New Zealand. NZ$1 = AU$0.97 and it's been like that for the past 2 years. Use Google currency convertor to evaluate the currency conversions for different
    countries.

    Quite Angry Over Billing Price Issues

    The price difference globally for MS Points is for the same reason other things like boxed games cost more when valued in real currency and that is due to local tax differences and currency exchange rates.

    Unfortunately this is even more apparent in countries like Australia. It might not be fair but it also isn't Microsoft's fault for varying purchase tax/VAT rates per country.

    Why is it that the you get more microsoft points in the U.S. then in Canada?

    Throughout the world you'll notice alot of differences in pricing and it's not just with MS points. A friend I play with in Australia has to pay $120 for premium games, that's double than what we pay in North America and their currency is pretty much on
    par with the US dollar...:)
