Minecraft XBox One joining issues

    Minecraft XBox One joining issues


    My friend and I made a survival map and built stuff. The whole nine yards. I've been having problems being kicked out due to connection error intermittently. It was never too much of a problem until this morning. I disconnected trying to build a support
    beam underwater and that was the last thing I was doing. So I'm not sure if I'm dead or it glitched me into narnia or what not. Every time having tried to reset both our Minecraft games, X Box Ones, and the internet modem, it still gives me the same results-
    "connection failed, failed to connect to host". No matter what we did, it won't let me join his game. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Edit: Both of our Nat-types are Open.

    I'm pretty sure Minecraft is just Minecraft. One game, Minecraft. There is also Minecraft story mode, that is a very different game, a telltale series.

    Can you join and play other games with that friend?

    Sadly NAT isn't the only thing that dictates who you can / can't play with.

    Is your friend trying to use "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" or the version just called "Minecraft" , If your friend trying to use the one called "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" I don't believe this version is able to join your Minecraft world.

    This is happening because of the game version, Minecraft java edition can only be played between the following systems, Windows, Mac, and Linux, with that in mind you will not be able to play with your friend who is on Xbox as it is a different version of the game, which makes cross-platform between you two impossible.
