meh happy its coming out but its sod law my xbox is in for repair, 2 weeks to wait ffs, thought i'd see the back of my 360 but man i am glad i still got it or i'd feel even more *** on than i already do :/

(That old self turning off xbox crap is back be carefull with the touch on power button, it eventually starts functioning on its own and the console will not stay on longer than 7 mins)

To those talking about the graphics, sometimes it's about game play.

To the rest of you, this game is probably the best family oriented game i've ever played. My wife, son and I all play together and with friends. We've built castles floating on water, giant tree forts, explored deep ravines, made slime spawning dungeons,
explored the nether, killed a dragon, made and rode rollercoasters and on and on. My son can build anything you ask on creative mode in minutes.

If you dont think this game is fun, then I don't believe you've given it an honest try.

 

Minecraft has become a popular game fashion and culture despite the blocky graphics. To date its my most played game ever on xbox you make friends easy with it.

 

This is the kind of game that you have to play for a while before you get pulled in. When I first bought it I walked around in a field, punched a few trees and then turned it off for months. I came back to it one day when the COD lag comp made me rage.
Me and a buddy started messing around, digging down into the ground (with out knowing there was actually stuff below. Once we started finding stuff and building, I was hooked.

My girlfriend saw me playing for a few weeks and kept telling me it looked dumb. Once I handed her a controller and got her going, she was hooked.

We have both been patiently waiting.

Seriously? That's the most ignorant response I've ever seen. You, my friend, have absolutely no idea what you're missing out on. And because of the graphics!? My goodness, I don't even know what to think... If you play games for the best-looking and/or most
realistic graphics, than you don't even know what gaming is for: having fun. Minecraft delivers that in spades. Millions of people should know.

 

While I do not necessarily need great graphics, the origins of this game explains the graphics. But it was meant to be very immense. Which it is. And this is coming from someone who does not like Minecraft.

 

QUESTION. Its thursday evening for australia and nz. When mc comes out tomorrow and if I choose to get the discounted mc version which 360 users are entitled to, will I still be able to play my 360 version of mc or should I pay the full rrp? Will get the
digital version when it comes out have digital 360 version

 

With all of the talk lately about console exclusivity, I have to laugh at this one - Playstation 4 owners get Minecraft an entire day earlier than we do. LOL! And they were all hyped up about getting it 1st!

I found out about this due to IGN, who yet again is biased in favor of the PS4 (they shouldn't be biased at all towards either console in order to keep their journalistic integrity, which it seems they've already lost or never cared about to begin with).
In this case, their article regarding the above news mentions a $5 price-point for the PS4 for previous owners of the game on the PS3, but only mentions the $20 price-point on the Xbox One. I'm amazed that they actually get away with omitting information like
this! There's gotta be something wrong with that (and I'm not just talking about ethically; I'm talking legally)!

Unfortunately there's quite a few sites that seem to "favour" PS4, other's Xbox One, sad state of gaming journalism these days I'm afraid :/

...journalism is held up to higher standards than that. Seriously, how hard is it to simply report the facts? Especially with something as simple as what's mentioned above! It's a multiplatform game, they know it is, so what's the benefit of omitting info
in favor of one console over the other? Money? They get that from advertising!

...unless that advertising comes more from one side of the console spectrum than the other...

Whatever... IGN can kiss my... *ahem* ...I'm excited for Minecraft and can't wait to play it.
