Minecraft won't update and keeps freezing :(

I'm not sure what I should put this in, so my apologies if this should be in another topic, also sorry if this is difficult to read!

It's been a few hours and I've attempted to update it 3 or 4 times now. I tried playing earlier and it said it needed an update.

I tried updating it but after a few moments it stopped on 520kb and wouldn't budge at all so I restarted my Xbox, I tried again and it reset to 16kb without moving for an hour or so.

I left my xbox off for a couple hours and came back, this time it wouldn't go up by any % and said it needed a 0kb update instead of a 1gb update, it wouldn't let me pause it or cancel it either. Assassins creed updated fine so I'm 99% sure it's just minecraft. The last time I tried updating it again was 15 minutes ago but the bar says 100% updated and it's finishing some things up like normal, but again nothing is happening.

Edit: it's been another 45 minutes and it reset back to 16kb and you guessed it, won't progress anymore. i forgot to note im also using an xbox one if that is important

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

My xbox keeps freezing and freezing and idk if it's cuz my world is to big for minecraft (19MB) or if it's cuz my xbox is really hot but ever sens the new update for minecraft came out it just keeps freezing as soon as I go into the world the first 2 minutes
are ok but then it freezes I have my xbox in the freezer right now cooling down and I'll try to delete some minecraft things but all I know is notch or 4j studios needs to fix this fast cuz I have a important server I'm running and I can't get it running if
this keeps freezing I have found a little something that helps if you go into your game save right away and move a little then save do this about 10 times and it should not freeze but keep saving ever once awhile

The odd thing is that he can play with others in minecraft and his console won't freeze it's just happens when I leave
