Minecraft won't move from one storage device to another

Are you trying to move minecraft Bedrock edition or Java?

If it's Bedrock, did you tried using the "move" option via windows settings > apps > installed apps > scroll down until you find minecraft > right click on the three little dots > move?

If it's Java, did you tried taking ownership of the folder?
Press Windows + E and go to the path where minecraft folder is created

Right click on it and select properties > Go to the Security tab and select Advanced:

Click on Continue in the Permissions tab > Select Change > Click Advanced in the Select User or Group window, then Find now:
Select your user account and click on Ok > Click on Ok and Apply on every window and close them.

Your profile is what contains your Achivements and activity history. That can be downloaded to any console and any storage device. It's also not locked to a specific console. It can be moved from one storage device to another if you so choose.



Your game save data is stored on one or more storage devices. Most game data and saves can be Copied between storage devices. There are some exceptions that can only be Moved, and supposedly a small subset that won't work if they're moved (or work, but provide
reduced functionality).



If you pop a 250GB HDD into a 4GB console, then go to Settings, System, Storage, you'll see both a 4GB internal memory device and a 250GB HDD. From there you can highlight the 4GB device, drill down through the folders, and Copy individual game folders from
the 4GB internal memory device to the 250GB HDD. Some things will not Copy, but will Move. A few won't do either. You can do the same with other subfolders.

Only the old software did a wholesale move of data from one drive to another.



The integrated transfer software will allow you to selectively Move items, or you can cancel the process entirely and access the Transfer Cable device from Sytem, Settings, Storage. From Storage you can Copy or Move just as you would with any other storage
device.

you should be able to move content from one storage device to another storage device via the Xbox One via the following steps:

How do I manage external storage?

In My games & apps, you can view content by storage device. To do this, highlight a game or app, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game. You will then be able to move or copy content between storage devices.

To transfer the content over you first sign in with the new profile.

Go to Storage -> Hard drive(or whatever storage device you use). Select the save you want to transfer over then select Move. When asked where to move to just select the same storage device again and then item will be moved from the old profile to the new
one.

There is a problem with this that it apparently will no longer be possible to earn achievements on saves that are moved from one profile to another.
