    Minecraft won't let me join ANY multiplayer server


    I have been recently having issues trying to connect to other multiplayer Minecraft servers. I attempt to join a friend's server, and the screen will freeze and continue loading, and loading, and loading, before sending me back to the main launcher screen.

    I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. I have made sure my privacy settings allow joining other servers. I have allowed the app through my firewall. I have done basically anything I can to try and fix this issue but nothing has helped me whatsoever. I also repeatedly get an NVIDIA "Can't change the resolution" error whenever I start up the game and that has also resulted in the game crashing before getting to the main menu sometimes. I need help.

    I am currently on a Lenovo Legion laptop running Windows 10 64-bit.

    “Join Multiplayer Games” Settings
    If you have your settings set to block joining multiplayer games, you can’t join any multiplayer games in Minecraft, including shared local worlds, Realms or servers. To enable multiplayer in Minecraft, make sure this setting is set to ‘Allow.’

    However, just like ASCllnaut, that setting was already turned on for my children. In other words I'm in the same boat, we can play on the LAN but not on a realm.

    Have you not been able connect with each other ever since? Please make sure to review your account privacy settings on https://account.xbox.com/Settings and allow some restricted options there. Please also tell your friend to do the same.

    Thanks for confirming. I forgot to ask, are you able to join other worlds or join with other friends?

    Alternatively, please try to unfriend your friend's account and add it back as a friend again.
