    MINECRAFT WONT LAUNCH


    Problem: Minecraft won’t start – Error 0x1

    I can no longer start Minecraft. As soon as I open the launcher, a message briefly appears saying "Minecraft is being updated", but immediately after that I get the following error:

    This is strange, because just two days ago everything was working fine.

    What I’ve tried so far:

    • Reinstalled Minecraft multiple times (6x)
    • Completely deleted the .minecraft folder
    • Updated Windows and all drivers
    • Disabled Windows Firewall and antivirus
    • Reinstalled Java
    • Signed in and out of the Microsoft Store and the Xbox app
    • Tried launching Minecraft via CurseForge
    • Reset the launcher in Windows settings
    • Manually deleted all related files and registry entries
    • Checked the log files for any errors
    Additional Observations:

    • The error appears immediately after clicking the launcher.
    • The update process doesn’t even really begin — the error pops up right away.
    • The log shows this message:
      Failed to determine configuration file size: The system cannot find the file specified.

    Hey Swaggy, I’m really sorry you’re stuck with this. It must be so frustrating after trying all that!

    Another thing you might try is running the Minecraft Launcher in compatibility mode for Windows 8 or 7 and as an administrator. Sometimes that helps with weird update or permission errors like this. You could also try it on a different Windows user profile (local) to see if it's something with the profile settings or data.

    If that doesn’t work, reaching out to Minecraft Support could be the best next step.

    I've been having the same problem but I have tried every one of these methods and still got nothing I login to micraft it shows the red mojang screen then goes black and takes me back to the home screen its been like this for the past 3 days.
