Minecraft won't install on windows

Hi NicolasGeorgescu, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

For Minecraft there are two versions on Microsoft Store the first one is "Minecraft" which is an Xbox Version, you will be able to validate it by scrolling down you'll see "Playable On". On the other hand, there is Minecraft for Windows 10 which is the PC version. The one that was gifted to is the Xbox version.

I understand that you are experiencing issues installing Minecraft Bedrock.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check for Windows updates. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and ensure your system is fully updated.

And then reset the Microsoft Store cache by pressing Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type wsreset.exe and hit Enter. This will reset the Microsoft Store cache and might resolve the issue.

Then re-register the Microsoft Store. Open PowerShell as an administrator.

Run the following command:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your PC and try installing Minecraft again.

Next is to install via Minecraft Launcher. Please download the Minecraft Launcher from Minecraft.net and install Bedrock Edition through the launcher instead of the Microsoft Store.

Is it an issue when even downloading stuff from the Microsoft store is taking as long and doing the same thing? It's been on 3.96MB for about 10 minutes. It seems that whenever I pause it then unpause, it seems to download faster. Same thing happens in the Minecraft launcher even after downloading gaming services and doing the powershell commands and yes I restarted my pc.

That's odd. To further isolate the issue, could you please try switching your PC's network connection from wireless to wired or vice versa? If you have a different internet source like mobile data hotspot, it would also be best to try it on.
