Minecraft Windows 10/Xbox

Discus and support Minecraft Windows 10/Xbox in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have Minecraft and minecraft windows 10 edition on my PC but I want to know can I play either of these on my xbox or do I need to purchase minecraft...     I have Minecraft and minecraft windows 10 edition on my PC but I want to know can I play either of these on my xbox or do I need to purchase minecraft on my xbox also. I do not have windows 10 but I have the windows 10 edition (which i obviously cant use)
    so I was just wondering if i could play it on my xbox instead of my pc because most of my friends have an xbox instead of a pc or would I have to buy it on xbox too.

    Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition runs specifically on Windows 10. If you would like to play Minecraft on Xbox One, you will want to take a look at Minecraft:
    Xbox One Edition    . If you would like to install the Windows 10 version of Minecraft on your Windows 10 PC, sign into the account that originally redeemed the code and download through the Windows Store.

    If its purchased through the xbox application on Windows yes! If not and purchased through steam, origin, etc. Then no unfortunately.... to "play anywhere" it need a to be purchased through your Microsoft account. Best of luck!

    Wait wait wait wait, wait a minute... So if we have that 'new' non-Xbox One Edition Minecraft we don't have to re-buy the Windows 10 one? ...I had to pay $50 for the Windows 10 one even though I already owned it on the One...

    Minecraft Xbox One Edition or Minecraft (new version) are not Xbox Play Anywhere. It means you have to pay again to play it on the Xbox. You can find more info on the Xbox Play Anywhere games here Xbox Play Anywhere | Xbox

    xbox play anywhere on minecraft

    I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....
    There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

    On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

    As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

    However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.

    Minecraft on Xbox and on Windows 10 are separate. Yes, they're the same Play Together version but they're 2 different games to purchase. Minecraft for Xbox is in the GamePass, but Minecraft for Windows 10 isn't

    All I can think of is that Minecraft for Xbox is a seperate entity than Minecraft for Windows 10.

    So are you looking at Minecraft for Windows 10 in the Microsoft store, or are you in the Xbox app?

    Minecraft for Windows 10 is only for the PC. If you purchased and played on the Xbox, then you own the Xbox version of Minecraft. You would need to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 in order to play it on the PC.
