Minecraft windows 10 - xbox live pc privacy issue

Hi there,

I was fine playing my minecraft windows 10 multiplayer yesterday morning but then all of a sudden it said i couldn't use the multiplayer part of it because of my xbox live privacy settings. i checked i set everything to ALLOW saved it. i am an adult
account as well. also i can't even add friends in the xbox live app on my windows 10 pc it tells me i need to change my settings..

i never owned an xbox console, i've always gamed on my pc.

please help and thank you.

Minecraft PC/Windows 10 issue

Hey there DatmanWolf,

Only the New version of Minecraft called "Minecraft" will be able to be played Cross Platform. The previous Minecraft version on PC has been renamed to Minecraft: Java Edition to help differentiate the two. More info on that

HERE. Minecraft is not an Xbox Play Anywhere title so you would need to purchase the game on any different device you wish to play on. If you're both running the Java Edition, you should be able to play, but the steps to do so would be different.

That said, I may have a bit of good news for you. Players who own the "Java Edition" can access a free copy of the Windows 10 version of Minecraft. Which will allow you to be able to play across platforms. For more information and steps to get the Windows
