What server are you trying to join exactly?

Be aware that some servers only work with the JAVA version of Minecraft. Not all servers support the Windows 10 Minecraft version.

If in doubt, check the website for the server (if it exists) or contact the server administrator (if known).

Sorry for not being online lately. I had my laptop broken and it has been taken a while to be fixed. I have changed it via the website stated but it still says the same thing of you cannot play online multiplayer... As for the child account, i am pretty
sure that my account is not one. is it better off to make a new account?

just to be sure, did you change the settings via
http://account.xbox.com/settings

to allow online gameplay, also make sure the setting for Allow user created content is enabled.

If this is for a Child account then the parental account has to sign in and change this for the child account.

After the change it might be best to restart the PC and try again afterwards.

According to https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Bedrock_Edition_beta_1.13.0.1 it seems you opted in to recieve BETA updates to Minecraft.

As Beta versions are test versions and might contain unstable code, public servers do not update to Beta versions.

So if you wish to use public servers, make sure you only use non-Beta versions of Minecraft. If necessary, un-enroll from the Minecraft Insider Beta program, and wait until the next official update, or uninstall and re-download the latest public non-beta
version of Minecraft.

Well I was just wondering why it would let me connect a few days ago but now it wont?
