Minecraft Windows 10 Multiplayer not working

Hello,

From the looks of things, Minecraft Windows 10 Edition has had some issues. This is a common known issue that doesnt quite have a fix as of yet. This has worked, but not guaranteed:

Open Minecraft DIRECTLY from the Windows search index (Not through the Xbox App) and attempt hosting the game.

If it doesn't work at this point for whichever reason, open task manager. Then find Minecraft and the Xbox app, force close them both and repeat steps.

Im sorry I could not provide a solid solution as there currently doesn't seem to be one.

There is a few possible reasons you cant connect.

1. The server is full

2. The server's IP or port is wrong

3. The server is not online

4. The server is whitelisted

Now, we can recommend two methods to troubleshoot this

Open Windows PowerShell and run the following command:

CheckNetIsolation LoopbackExempt -a -n="Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe"

When you next open the game, you should be able to connect to your local server.

If it does not work, Modify your options.txt

Navigate to %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftpe.

Open the options.txt in a text editor and find the option dev_uselocalserver. Set it to 1 and save the file.

Restart your game and attempt to connect to your server.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly.

Looked through some of the help articles - man the information is confusing.

Anyways from what I'm inferring from the posts is that you can play Windows 10 to Windows 10, and Pocket Edition to Windows 10 and that's it right now.

You can play with up to four other people running Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta or Pocket Edition on your local network. You can also play online with up to four of your Xbox Live friends in online multiplayer gaming.

Your version IS different from hers. Her version is Java. Yours is Bedrock/Windows 10. Don't worry, this isn't compatible for multiplayer, it still the same. Try asking her to buy the Minecraft for Windows 10.

• Is this a child or adult account being used?
• Does Multiplayer or Local work with the account?
• Which platform is being used? PC (Windows 10) or Xbox One

Please try the following: Remove account from Family.
Then try to sign into another Microsoft account, then add the first account as an "Adult" family member. From there, try to see if it is possible to change the settings and save them this way. Also, please try another device to see if it is possible to change
the Online Safety and Privacy Settings like
a phone, tablet, console etc.
