    Minecraft Windows 10 free redeem error


    I bought Minecraft back on 1st June 2012 (I deleted the email with the transaction ID but I got it back by emailing skrill) And I have just upgraded to windows 10 this week.

    I was excited to finally test it but when I tried to claim the free copy it gave me this error:

    "Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!"

    By the looks of it, it says that I just have to wait but it's been 2 days and still there are no codes available, which for me doesn't make sense. Shouldn't the code already be there from the purchase?

    I just want to clarify it. I'm pretty sure I didn't press that button while I was with my windows 8.1 version.

    It's supposed to give me a token to redeem at the Microsft redemption page, but it gives an error.

    Maybe it's because the email I have my account with is Gmail and it has to be Hotmail?

    Minecraft Windows 10 No Redeem Code

    I bought Minecraft in 2013 and recently wanted to start playing with my friends on Minecraft Windows 10. I logged into my mojang account to get a redeem code for a free copy of Minecraft Windows 10, but there was no Windows 10 section after the "My Games"
    section. Does anyone know how to make it appear?

    If you have Java Minecraft, sign in with your Mojang Account on the Minecraft Website, and you should get an offer to redeem a code for the Windows 10 Version.

    However, it was long ago since I did that, and don't know where exactly you need to go.

    After you got your code, you can go to the Windows Store App on your Windows 10 PC and redeem that code in the Store App to get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.

    EDIT: It seems that you need to have purchased the Java Edition before Oct. 19th 2018 to be eligible for getting Minecraft Windows 10 for free.

    If you redeemed the Code on your "alt", then Minecraft Windows 10 is bound to that account only.

    In order to get Minecraft on your PC then, you would have to open the Store app on your Windows 10 device, and in the upper right, sign out of your "non-alt" account in the store app. Then sign in with your "alt" account, and you should find Windows 10 Minecraft
    in your account's library. Simply download Minecraft from the library, and you should be able to play the game on your "non-alt" account as well.

    But only your "alt" account that originally redeemed the code can re-download Minecraft from the store. No one else can.
