Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Crashes Instantly

I've been trying to play Minecraft Windows 10 Edition all night, but I can't. Every time I open the app, it instantly crashes before even loading the title screen. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, restarting Windows, installing updates for the
OS, Java, and NVIDIA, and nothing works. The game still won't open no matter what I do.

I think that this issue is being caused by the recent major Windows update which I installed a few days prior to this issue occurring, as this is the first time I've tried playing the game since then.

How do i get Minecraft Java with the Windows 10 Edition?

So I bought Minecraft Windows 10 edition and I read that if you had Minecraft Java edition you could get the Windows 10 edition. I am just wondering if there is any way to get Minecraft Java edition with the Windows 10 edition. Thanks!

Hey there, SnappyBark0! Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta is only available free for users that had the original Minecraft: PC (or Mac) Edition. If you only have the Minecraft: 360 Edition, you will not be able to get the Windows 10 Beta version for free.

There was an update to Minecraft Windows 10 yesterday I believe - have you tried installing this? I know you said you reinstalled, but if the update came out after then you may not have applied it yet.

Yes, Minecraft is on the latest version as far as I know.

I can't actually access the start screen in the game where it says the current version though, but it is up to date according to the Windows Store.

 

I bought and installed too Minecraft beta and crashes istantaneusly too....

 

Exactly what happens to me after updating to 0.13.0.

 

I have confirmed that 0.13.0 of Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta runs fine on my other laptop, which notably does not have the latest Windows 10 feature update ('Threshold 2' I think it's called)

I believe it is possible that this is a compatibility issue with the newer version of the Windows OS, it is similar to what happened on 32bit systems before the game was patched to work on them.

 

I updated my crappy old netbook to the latest Windows 10 OS and Minecraft 0.13.0 works fine on that one, so this problem isn't a broad problem with Threshold 2, it's a problem specifically with my laptop.

 

I'm having this problem as well, there isn't any solutions yet?

 

There is no solution yet. I'm hoping maybe the next update for the game fixes this.

 

me to im having the same problem I have a dell and in the update 0.15 later I just see the mojang logo and it instantly crashes pleas help all I just wanted is to play minecraft all these years

 

I think its problems that would last so if any of you people are having problems for to long then I would just consider moving on
