I keep getting this i

Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!

It's been over a month now and it still shows the same thing.

I've contacted mojang no answer does anyone know what to do?

Only the game's dev can answer you relating game issues. Post in their forums or contact their support.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are requesting a code for Minecraft Windows 10 Edition on the Mojang site since you own the Java Edition of Minecraft on your PC.

We here on the Xbox Forums are unable to effectively assist you with this, as this is a promotion done by Mojang and we do not have the necessary tools to provide you with a digital copy of that version of the game.

If you have tried to request this code over and over and keep receiving the same results the only option is to wait, or follow the advice provided by Xbox Forums Ambassador

However, considering how you have not managed to receive any info or feedback from Mojang themselves, the more likely response is that they perhaps may have run out of codes indefinitely. If this is the case, then you would no longer be able to acquire one
of there codes via this promotion.

I'm sorry about any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

I have this same issue but i do not own a disc copy i own a digital copy of minecraft windows 10 edition

As someone who has Minecraft for both Xbox One and Windows (both Win 10 version and the Java version) I can answer this.

Poli5hesBubble: When the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version) of the Minecraft entered public Beta in 2015/2016, owners of the pre-existing Java version were given a key to download and own the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version) for free, as
they already owned it for PC (in Java form). However, this does NOT work in reverse; if you bought the Windows 10 Edition (Windows Store Version), you will NOT be given a free copy of the Java version.

KyleCBlanchard: Similar to the answer for Poli5hedBubble, if you own the Java version from Minecraft.net, you should be able to go to your Mojang account, log in and see a key that, once entered into the Windows Store or at redeem.microsoft.com, will allow
you download the free copy of Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition for free.
