Minecraft Windows 10 "Cannot join world, currently playing on another device" error

When I try to log into a server on minecraft windows 10 edition, I get the following message: "Cannot join world. The account you are signed in to is currently playing in this world on a different device." However, the tab says that there are 0 players
online (which is normal for this server). I have tried signing out and signing back in and restarting my computer but I am met with the same message.

What do I do?

Having the same issue. I have played against my daughter many times and now suddenly I get the same message. It's on a LAN game.

So... it appears you're having problems connecting to your friends worlds in Minecraft for Windows 10.

I would have them check their in-game settings in Minecraft under the main menu there, and make sure that Online play is enabled. Sometimes this is switched to being disabled and therefore they cannot join any online games and friends cannot join their game
either. Both you and your friends should check in Minecraft settings and make sure that Online play is enabled and friends are allowed to join. Then you can select which permissions you would like to enable for your friends when they join your world after
that.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have a question on Minecraft worlds. Unfortunately, items from Windows 10 PC, Xbox, and Mobile do not transfer to PlayStation. The only way to transfer worlds form one device to another is with realms.
Which is currently not available on the PS4 right now.

The Minecraft Xbox One Edition only works on the Xbox One Edition.

You might want to upgrade to the Minecraft (without Xbox One Edition in the name) on your Xbox. If you bought Minecraft Xbox One Edition digitally, you can upgrade to "Minecraft" for free.

Then you can import your world from the Xbox One Edition to "Minecraft" for Xbox One.

However, the Support page for Windows 10 Minecraft states: "The Windows 10 Edition does not currently support the transferring of worlds from other devices."

So you can't transfer your world between devices.

You might have to move your World to a paid online Realm server to access it. Or you might have to run your Xbox One Minecraft in Multiplayer, and connect to the running world on your Xbox One with your Windows 10 version.

But you can't have your World separately transferred from Xbox to other devices.

As I said, you can try hosting your world on a Realm server (which you need to pay for), and can then access it with Windows 10, Xbox One, Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch.

But not JAVA.

I can join the Xbox from my Windows 10 not a problem. The problem is if I'm on the Windows 10 open world the Xbox cannot join me. Both are on the same Microsoft account but different licensing.
