Minecraft will be bad for my health!

Because I know I will be addicted. lol

That's literally the only reason I've never let myself play it. I've watched so many videos though and now I can't hold out any more. I just have a few noob questions that hopefully someone can answer.

1. How do the different texture packs work? If you buy them do they mix in with normal material (regular Minecraft graphics) or is it one or the other? Like if I bought the candy pack, do I have to use just that? Can you use multiple packs together?

2. After I build a world, then what? What do I do? Just look at it and invite people to come check it out? Can I then play survival mode in the world I created in creation mode?

3. I saw someone build something that took a really long time to build something, and then they blew it all up. Hopefully you can make a duplicate save?

4. Finally, is there a tutorial that shows you how things work like electric or is it all trial and error?

1.)they take over..one or the other, but be aware if you start on one of the texture packs but you choose not to buy it you will be unable to save anything you built.

2.)build some more? you can play survival mode but you wont get any achievements if you move a world from "creative" mode over to survival mode.

3.) No duplicate saves that I know of...havent tried saving to a thumb drive though..not sure there is an option.

4.) there are alot of online youtube tutorials on the electric grids. Back on the 360, I was able to create a giant automatic farm where when I stood in the middle and switched a lever it would release water behind 8 sticky pistons that came down and washed
wheat into a water flow that came right to where I stood. Pretty neat, but thats all I did. Got rather boring after this creation..picked up Minecraft for the X1 because of the low price and my sons a fan who'll play sometimes. I cant motivate myself to
create another town/world. Doesnt seem interesting after trying for a few hours. That and its obviously not 1080p/60fps

 

Thanks for the info. Do the packs have as much to build with as the standard material?

 

the only thing it does is change the looks of the items..doesnt add anything new or take away from the standard texture pack.

 

Hey brand, I just wanted to comment that I've got a few worlds where I started them before there even was a creative mode, so each building is built block by block and each material mined the same way in peaceful mode.

I found huge satisfaction in building this way and then you can switch it on the survival and have some fun after, but I got so addicted to going underground and finding stuff to build with I hardly played the survival mode, even though that was the mode
I was building in, haha.

I didn't find the tutorials that helpful when trying to build my circuits, I had a friend come into my world an explain them to me and then it was just experimenting. In my of my worlds I have 3 different buildings at different far reaching ends of the map
with a rail that connects all the buildings and with each one of them a door automatically opens and closes for you when you arrive on your cart, I love it so much!

Hey, another Minecraft thread, so I have to participate in this yay

Any texture packs and skin packs which you purchased on Xbox 360 should be transferable over to Xbox 1 and you shouldn't have to pay anything for it. When I did this couple of weeks ago the Dashboard said $0.

As for how you play it's really up to you and your friends. You can change your worlds from creative to survival and vis versa anytime, or cheat in survival mode by having host privileges on. You may also want to look into turning off trust players and give
permissions to only peps you trust. I've been playing mc since a month after it came out for 360 and have meet tonnes of peps on it. Do hunger games, build a city or stuff, own the monsters (creeper, zombie, etc), or whatever you like.

I know it's a bit healthy for me too. Staying up all night sometimes with friends. I see why Microsoft decided to buy Minecraft cuz millions play it on Xbox and other platforms.

Making duplicate saves on Xbox 360 is easy I back up my important worlds to USB. But since I hardly play on Xbox 1 the main reason is because 90 of my friends are stuck on 360, and only 12 of my other friends have an Xbox 1. With the Xbox 1 Dashboard Interface
am not quite sure how to back up your saves on Xbox 1 to USB.

O, and your worlds on Xbox 1 take 1 second max to save. That's expressimo. Usually they can take up to 30 seconds to save on the Xbox 360. Plus worlds load faster bigger drawing distances more mob numbers friend and foe spawn thanks to Xbox 1's 8GB DDR3
RAM and AMD Jaguar 8 core processor compared to 360's 512mb GDDR3 RAM. Also Minecraft Xbox 1 is a beautiful 1080p 60fps native. O and Music is b-e-a-u-t-I-f-u-l new tracks are played in the game which aren't in the 360 version. And... Minecraft X1 edition
just got another update tonight! 320mb approx. big. Since launch on X1 it also had another 300mb last month.

One issue I've had with the X1 version is auto-save keeps on turning on by itself. And if it isn't on auto-save when saving it asks me do I want to auto-save. No! Because from past experience it saves at the wrong time like if your about to die or someone
grief's or steals. Yes these are things you need to watch out for in Minecraft. Even before loading a world I tick disable auto-save. I don't let these issues though ruin the fun of the game. I rate the game 100000/10. I would really like to see horses in
the next update and maybe witches. Minecraft is best with friends or in multiplayer. Since it came out on X1 being playing all alone since the vast majority of my friends don't have an Xbox 1. I'm almost always in multiplayer on the Xbox 360 version though.

 

Thanks for the input. I'm still trying to figure it out. lol. I couldn't figure out how to fly in creative mode. Also, I need to learn how electric works and if there is a way to rotate blocks before you place them.

One more question. What is the point of survival mode? Is there eventually an end or does it just keep going? Thanks.

 

Some peps like tradition or a challenge. It can add to the excitement of the game too.

Just to let you know, if you load or save any world on Creative Mode or a world with Host Privileges enabled, you WONT be able to get ACHIEVEMENTS in that world. Microsoft is kind of strict with getting achievements legit. With the Xbox 360 version, the
game uses the Dashboard to bring up many player notices. With the X1 version they kind of went with their own notification menu's instead of using the Dashboard notices which they did in 360. Sorry I maybe confusing you a bit. In Survival if you die you just
respawn. It's not like in Search and Destroy in COD where you get only one life. When you die the who screen turns red. Don't be alarmed, your console doesn't have a virus when the game does this ;D

 

As for flying, just double tap A quickly. When sprint came out in late 2012 I didn't even know how to sprint. Some of my friends play the PC version. Just double tap the left wiggly stick (joystick or whatever you prefer to call it) on your controller. While
in sprint and if you tap A it makes you jump and sprint and while in this method, you move a lot more faster. Just don't try it in a strip mine which is only 3 blocks high. You'll end up bumping your head on the ceiling even though you shouldn't take any damage
from doing so.
