    Minecraft: Wants us to purchase again?


    We have already purchased Minecraft and have had it installed on our Xbox One since Christmas. Recently it does not recognize that we own it, even when the disc is in the machine. It keeps asking us to purchase it. Any tips on how to get this working
    again? Thanks!

    Sorry to hear about the purchasing issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. I recommend waiting a day and then trying to purchase the game again. If you are still unable to purchase Minecraft, reach out to phone support from

    Question, Have you purchased Minecraft on Xbox 360 and connected it to your profile? Also have you tried to Actually purchase Minecraft Xbox One Edition? You should take a look at this post:

    With Minecraft you have to purchase it again if you're wanting to play it on a different platform.

    If you want to play Minecraft on the Switch, you will have to purchase it again for that platform.

    Minecraft for the Xbox is considered a different version than Minecraft for Windows 10. Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title unfortunately, so it would have to be purchased again if you want to play it on a different platform.

    I apologize for the trouble. I just want to clarify, you purchased Minecraft through Minecraft.net, and now that you wanted to install the game it is asking you to purchase the game again?

    If that's correct, may I ask what Minecraft game you purchased? Is it Minecraft for Windows or Minecraft Java Edition?
