Minecraft used in the public school system.

Greetings to all reading this, and shouts out to my fellow Xbox Ambassadors.

I live in the state of West Virginia, and our schools use Minecraft intermittently for classroom instruction. I have asked my son what they do with it, and his response was, "we use it in science class."

In no way shape or form am I relatively good at Minecraft, but I have played it, and I realize the application of physics is relevant to the game play. For instance, I was impressed when I had to make an oven to hold a fire, to bake my clay in order to make
tiles. This takes application of environmental cues and thought process to accomplish, and I for one respect this. Therefore I can say Minecraft is relevant in many aspects. However, West Virginia is commonly known for ranking around 48th in education in our
nation, along with poverty and obesity (childhood & adult).

My question to you, literally the entire world of Xbox and Microsoft, have you known of this to be used in your schools or educational systems?

I also live in West Virginia, my little cousins use it at school. They really enjoy it, more fun for them and makes them excited to learn.

I wish that is applied to me when I was in school but I believe that it distracted students also

Thisis really cool and fun it is just like the normal Minecraft you can build what ever you want and you can even join your friends like you do in the normal world, or learn about creativity.

Honestly, no I have never heard of Public Schooling systems to use Minecraft as an educational tool. However, after playing it myself I can understand why they may use it in possibly a physics class. Another thing is that even though I have never heard of
Minecraft in schools I am familiar with gaming in schools. My high school had a Halo club, and a Super Smash Bros. club that would meet regularly in the library after school. These clubs were not necessarily used to educate students, but they did offer a place
for children to go in a safe environment to play a game and compete without worry. I met a lot of my friends in those clubs and it brought students together.
