Minecraft Upgrade not discounted to $5

I purchased Minecraft for my Xbox 360 and played it on my Xbox live (gold) account for many months. I got a new Xbox One for Christmas and wanted to download the upgrade for $5 as advertised and it will not let me have the $5 price. I have tried to download
on my Xbox and on the website and everything says $20. I have only ever had the one Xbox live account and my account is gold. I qualify in every possible way for all the details that are required and it is simply trying to charge me $20 for the game.

What is the deal?

Having problems with Minecraft Xbox one discounted price

I own Minecraft on my Xbox 360. I've been trying to upgrade but it only shows full retail price instead of the discounted price. Even though, it used to show the discounted price on the Xbox games store. Any ideas on what's going on?

 

To summarize my situation

Purchased digital copy for Xbox 360 = YES

Connected to xbox live account = YES

Have active Xbox live gold membership = YES

All under same account = YES

Waited 24-48 hours = YES

Tried to purchase on Xbox One signed into same account = YES

 

I just talked to Xbox support about this issue and they said this is an issue on their end and they're working on fixing it.

 

Having the same problem, and while I understand it's not always easy to fix an error like this they should at least be offering to credit out accounts either the $15 we shouldn't be paying or take out $5 and credit us the game. I have been waiting 3 or 4
days for this to be resolved, and ironically this is when I'm dying to play it.

Just an annoying inconvenience though I suppose, but there should be some dang loyalty and trust given to us consumers.

 

I am also having the same trouble is there anything that can be done will they be contacting us when it is resolved.

 

This is happening to me as well, can it be because i downloaded Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition on a different account? or is it just Microsoft

 

Hey, everyone! I'm very sorry to see that the upgrade price isn't showing for you! I wanted to pop in and let you all know that the appropriate teams are working on it now. I also wanted to drop in some clarifications.

Please be sure to check out the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition FAQ on the qualifications for this promotion. Additionally, if you haven't launched Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition since before September of last year, please do so again. There is a title update that
should be applied to help verify you played the game. Then it will take 48-72 hours before the discount shows on your Xbox One. Read over the FAQ and ensure you've done everything, including launching the game recently, so that you get the discount.

Keep an eye on this thread for more updates! Once we have more information for you, we'll post back in here.

UPDATE: If you have played the game over 48-72 hours ago, please check your price on your Xbox One or here on xbox.com again. If it is still reflecting the full price, please post back the time you saw it, as well as the time zone you are in.

I know you've heard this a millions times by now, but I just felt like saying that I'm in the same situation, too. I really do hope that this error gets resolved some time soon, but I'm not meaning to make a fuss. Thank you.

I am still having this exact issue despite it being fixed for some people! I have met all the same requirements Rowaxe1 has and the discounted price is still not showing. PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU!!

 

I too am not seeing minecraft at a discounted price. I went back and played the game 3 days ago around noon or so to make sure I had played it recently and gotten the updates, yet it is 6 oclock here now 3 days later and still no discount. Any ideas as
to why this might be?
