    Try playing it for five hours have read it works but don't quote me on that. Also you have a couple of months to get it.

    Still people are having issues with it not being free. I made my two suggestions based on what I have seen others post on the forums. Last thing I could suggest is contacting support but even they might not be much help.

    I think I have at least 12 hours played on a world, not being idle, and it is still not free...honestly is it even worth it?

    I have the same issue here. Seems a bit unfair that when you paid for a game you need to pay again for updates :S.

    I also created a support ticket for this and they said to keep on playing....

    WOnder if more people have this issue or that it did work for someone with the disc version

    Same problem here...bought it for x-mas, played about 8hours and also bought a skin pack...no update - no playing with his friends...

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. If the version of Minecraft you're using on disc is the Minecraft: Xbox One edition, then to update to the new Minecraft (Better Together), you'll need to purchase the game as it is a wholly different version.
    The free update from Minecraft: Xbox One edition to the new Minecraft edition (Better Together) ended on January 30th 2018.
