(Minecraft) Unable to join Xbox One server from Windows 10 Edition

Hey folks!

My friend and I are trying to no avail to get me into her MC game. She is, as stated, playing on Xbox One and I picked up Windows 10 Edition specifically to be able to join her.

I can see her online from the "Friends" tab of the splash screen, and attempt to join from that or her invites. However in doing so I get "Unable to connect to game". I have pulled up my Xbox Connectivity in Windows and it shows my NAT as moderate. I have set
up port forwarding in my router as per
this link, though I still show as having a NAT of Moderate. I have not had a chance to test if this actually helped but, if it does not solve the issue, what other steps can I take?

The Minecraft Xbox One Edition only works on the Xbox One Edition.

You might want to upgrade to the Minecraft (without Xbox One Edition in the name) on your Xbox. If you bought Minecraft Xbox One Edition digitally, you can upgrade to "Minecraft" for free.

Then you can import your world from the Xbox One Edition to "Minecraft" for Xbox One.

However, the Support page for Windows 10 Minecraft states: "The Windows 10 Edition does not currently support the transferring of worlds from other devices."

So you can't transfer your world between devices.

You might have to move your World to a paid online Realm server to access it. Or you might have to run your Xbox One Minecraft in Multiplayer, and connect to the running world on your Xbox One with your Windows 10 version.

But you can't have your World separately transferred from Xbox to other devices.

As I said, you can try hosting your world on a Realm server (which you need to pay for), and can then access it with Windows 10, Xbox One, Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch.

But not JAVA.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums.

To clarify, are you on Minecraft (Xbox One) or Minecraft Windows 10 edition? This is important because they are both different versions.

Can you join official servers without issue?

Besides "unable to join world" what else does the error say?

Are both of you on the same version? You can confirm with the version number on the home screen of Minecraft.

Please answer those questions for us so we can provide better assistance.

So she can connect to a game I'm hosting on PC, but I still cannot connect to her Xbox game.

Sometimes not having the latest version of Windows can prevent you from joining games and etc.

As well is with outdated graphics drivers. To change your NAT to open you'll have to visit your router login page I believe.

They may not have the same version of the game, just as someone of you has the beta version
