Minecraft to join Microsoft

This MS not EA is EA the ones who has that stuff.

 

lol That is the most idiotic comment. EA is not the only ones "who has that stuff" Warframe, World of Tanks has Microtransactions its not just EA. FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 even has Microtransactions man!

 

Its idotoic that you read my comment wrong. I NEVER SAID EA THE ONLY ONES WHO DO IT. EA PUT THEM IN EVER GAME. Forza has some and Ryse there the only MS game that have them. MS not the ones who put them in ever game EA are.

 

You do understand that skins and texture packs are FREE and COMMUNITY MADE on the PC version right? Sorry to break it to you but it is important. Microsoft has already shown they're willing to put micros into their own games so why is it that surprising?
Why is it right that my version has to be gutted? There's no other reason for purchasing this company than to force micros into the only versions left that don't have them at all. Minecraft makes money by itself, but it's not anywhere near to make up for that
2.5 billion.

 

i think they have done this to fun minecraft. im glad to see minecraft staying on all platforms. also i think they could have spent that money on a new studio then made a game as big as games like destiny and halo

 

Minecraft made loads of money and Microsoft is not making this purchase to leave a bad taste in all of the miners mouths. I whole heartily believe they have the best in mind to keep Minecraft relevant and alive. Remember, Notch gave up on Minecraft
a few years ago and delegated the duties to others. Now you have a big company that has to create a positive impact on this giant fan base. Bon3zz I disagree with you.

 

I'm glad M has as much interest or even more interest in Minecraft that I/we do. Could be seeing more than 8 in multiplayer and the ability to play your world on perhaps the Azure servers even if your the host/creator so that when you are offline/don't want
to play mc, your friends can play on that world while away. If you ask me it sounds like a good strategic move for M.

 

Except there's a very high chance they're going to move the game from java to C++ / C# which will also effectively kill the mac and linux versions of the game. On top of that doing so would also more than likely come with skin / texture pack restrictions
and also removing mod support which is the entire reason the games even popular on PC and has the largest player base. I mean mod support is already being killed today as it is. Bukkit isn't expected to go past 1.8 and some people working on the forge mod
api jumped ship. Where those stop entirely decide where Minecraft stops on PC.

 

If it was easy to reproduce something out there and be as successful as the vision no one would ever buy a business, as it happens business get bought and sold all the time some for the good and some for the bad, only time will tell if it will be worth it.

Value isn't always in the retails sales value.

 

2.5 billion dollars could have created several decent xbox live arcade games or AAA games. I understand that Minecraft is a best seller for Xbox One and Xbox 360, but what happens to players who enjoy the game on other platforms like mobile, playstation,
and PC? If Microsoft acquired Minecraft to push more sales for the Xbox One, they will inevitably be forced to make the game or extra content/dlc exclusive to Xbox 360/Xbox One which will alienate fans on other platforms. I just don't see this as a good investment
just like the timed exclusive deal with Tomb Raider.

 

I will add,that money didn't come from my pocket (so doesn't matter how they spend it),Microsoft bought a studio not only a game.

I think it won't stop Microsoft to buy other studios or spend money on new exclusives if they want to.(they already spend 2 billions for games on Xbox,before Mojang).

And Microsoft will get money from Minecraft players outside Xbox brand,might *** some people....

I don't play Minecraft but still a good news.

I thought Microsoft didn't care about indies studios ? Seems not.

 

LOL AT UR SKILL, as I posted up above, this does seem crazy as far as the price tag. I mean CryTek is floundering and they have a decent resume. Crysis is solid, say what you will regarding Ryse: Son of Rome, I loved the story and the combat was reminiscent
of Batman: Arkham. Had MS chose to try and work a deal with them perhaps CryTek wouldn't have had to sell Homefront: The Revolution, and Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age would be an exclusive (Had CryTek chose to become a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios).

But MS must have a plan and believe that Minecraft is not a 1 hit wonder or just a flash in the pan. This game has sold hundreds of millions.

For the people complaining how many AAA games they could of funded for 2.5b, mojang/minecraft was mainly bought to increase there mobile/tablet presence, it just happens it will likely come with benefits for us, it's also why it doesn't look profitable at
first glance.

 

The thing, even after spending 2.5 billions on Mojang,Microcrotft can still spend money to create more games....Oooups! They are already doing it,since last year.

It's just another (big) deal from Microsoft and i guess not the last.....

 

And as I said, Minecraft is essentially a one hit wonder that came to light because one day Notch decided he wanted to clone another game. Look at anything else Mojang has put out. Scrolls and Cobalt are a complete flop. Notch was working on another game
that was essentially Minecraft in space with guns and that flopped. They have money to work with but that doesn't mean anything at all.
