“Join Multiplayer Games” Settings
If you have your settings set to block joining multiplayer games, you can’t join any multiplayer games in Minecraft, including shared local worlds, Realms or servers. To enable multiplayer in Minecraft, make sure this setting is set to ‘Allow.’

However, just like ASCllnaut, that setting was already turned on for my children. In other words I'm in the same boat, we can play on the LAN but not on a realm.

Does anybody know y i can join my friends minecraft world but he cant join my world

both computers are up to date on the minecraft game and both are the same version minecraft windows ten edition

 

They will make that money back easily wouldn't they?

 

i think Mojang at some point will be free on Ms platforms like minesweeper. It will help boost mobile sales as it is not on windows phones.

this is a strategic move, whether it is the right one or not remains to be seen.

When it comes to console, MS may get leverage by striking deals with Sony on exclusives or exclusive content on sony platforms to come to MS but thats a long shot, since i believe after spending that much money the main concern will be for MS to get a return
on investment and the best way to do this is just to keep the service as it is, and not to use any leverage to get exclusive contents from other games on MS platforms.

Will definitely see some exclusive content on MS.

I am not a fan of this game, i would have for sure preferred if they bought a studio like naughty dog, but this is my opinion, they know their strategy better than anyone else

 

MS couldnt buy Naughty dog. Sony own ND they bought they back in 2001

 

@ Pyramid Head They have a few small titles in the works. 2 titles in the works, titled Cobalt and Scrolls.

And that is what worries me about the Mojang acquisition. They are essentially a 1 hit wonder. And the 3 heads of Mojang are leaving. Are they the true creative geniuses, or once they had enough money did they delegate the work load to the studio? I
guess we will see in time.

Bowski, MS acquiring Minecraft aside, I had heard that Notch was leaving but I don't know why - you said you admire his reasons. What were those reasons?

And Microsoft already got a (time) exclusive deals for Ryse of the Tomb Raider + Remedy' Quantum Break....

So deal is done,now let see what will happens between Minecraft and the cloud....

I guess Minecraft Xbox fans must be happy....

One more big move from Microsoft.

 

He can not take the toll of watching over Minecraft anymore. He just doesn't have the drive to keep up with his games demands.

Not only is the version that is entirely the reason you even have this game on your console going to be completely destroyed because of this, it's also 2.5 wasted on one game. The only other thing Mojang has is flops aka Scrolls and Cobalt. I don't think
people understand how many first party games they could have actually made for their platform with that kind of money. There's literally no other reason for this purchase than to force microtransactions into the PC version of the game which has the largest
playerbase.

Besides that, what are they going to do make a Minecraft 2? The entire point of Minecraft was for it to keep expanding. The only thing that would happen with a "Minecraft 2" is having stuff stripped from the game and forcing you to pay real money for it.

 

Being in the spotlight is tough and notch never expected minecraft to become what it did. As an introvert myself I respect his desire to fly back under the radar and go back to what he loves.

I'm interested in the future of the company and what MS will do with the acquisition.

 

I agree with Bon3zz. 2.5 Billion on a game that everyone owns already? This has Microtranactions written all over it now.
