    Minecraft: this account does not have permission to join multiplayer worlds


    Similar to
    this     post, I can't join Minecraft worlds, and can't join realms due to "You cannot play on Realms because of how your Microsoft Account is set up".

    However, I own my account and all settings are enabled for my account.

    Also, I can join Minecraft worlds (and play online) on the main family Xbox. Plus, I've always been able to play online in the past, for example on the old Xbox 360. This problem seems entirely localised to this Xbox I am using.

    If your friend's account is set up as a minor, the parent may need to change the account settings.

    Sounds as though your friend may need to check their privacy settings to make sure that they don't have multiplayer blocked. They can
    sign in with their Microsoft account to review and change their settings online.
