Minecraft Story Mode didn't work but Microsoft Support was worse

Setting the stage...My grandson had a 10th birthday party with, you guessed it, a Minecraft theme. The wife made a cool "cake" with brownie and rice crispy blocks as well as a blue jello lake. We put $45 worth of Minecraft action figures on it and
all was well. Big win right? It was until the kids asked to play story mode. I downloaded episode one and they played it a few times. It was neat as a parent to see what choices they made and then it happened. "Can we get the rest?" Of course I said
yes and downloaded the 2-5 package. Disaster struck. Nothing worked after that. You'd go to the pick your character and the endless loop happened. I couldn't even get it so they could play the first episode again. I called the Techs. All eyes were on
me as they called back. The kids figured Microsoft would fix this. The party would be saved. They were wrong. I felt like the dancing bear performing at the party. Press this, unplug that, hold this button, delete and reload, this should work...all the
kids were excited...FAIL..FAIL..FAIL !!!! That look was worse than the first time the kids got stuck. We had waited so long for it to go through all the reload and nothing. I had them play other stuff and that was that. To put all this effort into a party
and have the take away experience be the STORY MODE FAIL was a big kick in the pants.

THEN IT GOT WORSE - how you say? -tech support called back

I spent time with them checking the internet connection, mind you no game before or since has had a download problem. Then I got on the phone with my carrier to fix this horrible connection problem that had sabotaged my day. (Sarcasm there, Very
Heavy, Very Thick) Nothing changed, uninstalled, reinstalled and the same issue at the same spot. Wasted another 3 hours.

Sadly, the first thing my Grandson asked when the wife picked him up to go to school...you guessed it, "Did Papa get the game to work?".

IT GETS WORSE -Really? -yep, tech should have known about this issue.

The next day I'm looking on Amazon and decide to check out the story mode disc. I go to read the reviews and my issue is THE VERY FIRST REVIEW!!! Dated 12/15.

HOW CAN A GROUP THAT OWNS THIS GAME AND SUPPLIES SUPPORT NOT KNOW THAT IT HAD AN ISSUE AND NOT HAVE ALERTED IT’S STAFF WITH A FIX? WHEN YOU READ THE REVIEWS YOU FIND THE PROBLEM IS OLDER THAN THE FIRST POST.

I would have been fine with someone telling me it's a glitch, telling the kids the game was broke and not watching gets their hopes dashed over and over as I tried to solve a KNOWN PROBLEM.

What was the final outcome?

They made sure I got my money back. It doesn't cover the loss this issue created. They called and sent a couple emails to make sure I got my money back. They emailed and even called to ask me to write down some feedback.

YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DIDN'T DO? -come on...think..yep..you got it...They didn't put the game on the Xbox. Free or with a fee, the kids wanted to play the game. It was left up to me to try to do the same thing again on my own. I bought one and it worked.
Season pass 2-5 failed. Season pass 1-5 failed. How my bullets are still in the gun? Sit at home, spin the chamber and….! NO PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS?

WITH ALL THE MONEY YOU GOT, YOU COULDN'T PUT A PLAYABLE VERSION OF THIS GAME ON MY MACHINE TO MAKE A 10-YEAR-OLD HAPPY. ARE YOU EVEN ABLE TOO?

In all honesty, everything else works great, every games works fine, service has been wonderful with the exception of Minecraft Story Mode.
