Minecraft shows up as owned on Xbox but not when I sign in on my pc.

So when I look at minecraft on my xbox profile it says the game is owned. When I sign in with the same profile on my pc to the microsoft store or the xbox app it says that I need to buy minecraft. I am confused because I play minecraft windows 10 on a different pc all the time and I use my xbox profile to do it. It's supposedly all connected but for some reason it thinks I don't own it. In fact I just checked and the exact same profile on the xbox app and microsoft store, both of which I logged into from my pc, show me as having different owned and purchased games. I am very confused why microsoft can't seem to keep track of what I own and how the same profile can have 3 different sets of owned games.

Minecraft is not a Play anywhere title. You will need to buy the game on the platform you want to play. Owning it on Xbox doesn't give you access to play it on that PC.

I do own minecraft bedrock. I have it on my other computer which is why I'm baffled that I can't access it now. It is tied to my microsoft account on my other computer but for some reason my account doesn't say I own it. I do. This has happened to me before and I fixed it somehow but now it's doing it again.

create each child their own accounts and use yours as the parent account, then on each pc when they are signed in open the store and xbox app and sign out, sign in with your name and download minecraft, once done log out of the store and xbox app on both and log in with their names respectively and boom they both have minecraft and their own gamertags.

I'm following your steps, I did a fresh install of Minecraft on my PC.

I opened the Minecraft Launcher, selected Bedrock Edition, hit play, and when the game popped up, it asked me to sign in. But instead of actually signing in, nothing happened. Since my account is already linked, it just logged me in automatically.

Based on what I described, at what point does the error message usually show up?

is Minecraft Dungeons an Xbox Play Anywhere title?

The store is listing both versions, Xbox and PC, but it doesn't mention that you can play it on both platforms once you own it.

Does anyone know? I'm afraid that I end up buying it twice.
