Minecraft saying I own game but not letting me install

I have bought minecraft, but on a different device, same account. I go to press "Install to" And underneath it says "You own this" so i press it, and then i press launch, I then press "Play/Install" and press Minecraft: Java edition. At the top my options are to: "play with game pass", "Not available", "Choose edition" , "add to play later" and three dots saying add to wishlist and share.

I scroll down to the reviews, and then it says that i must own this product to rate it or review it. So I scroll back up and press the only install option I see, "play with gamepass" and it says I need to pay? again? seriously, I just payed $39 dollars for the game and now I need to pay for a plan?? I am enraged by this, please help!

Please answer the following questions to assist you properly :

Just to confirm, the different device was a PC, right?
Did you purchased the game via minecraft.net or with your Microsoft account?
In any case, do you have the confirmation email about this purchase in the Microsoft account / email that you want to use?
May I know if you tried downloading the Minecraft launcher via minecraft.net?

i am trying to join my friends realm server and it wont let me install the game i own it got it for free because i owned java and i had it downloaded but wiped my hard drive a little while back but ever since then i can not download the game it says download/install
but wont actually let me install the game. can you please healp me reinstall this game

After uninstalling the game I’m now unable to reinstall it. Xbox says I don’t own the game and won’t let me install it without purchasing it.

I'm having a similar issue. I own minecraft on xbox, and it is an xbox play anywhere title right? anyways I can't play it on pc for some reason... It even let me install it on pc but it wouldn't allow me to play, it just sent me to the windows store to buy
the game that i already own on xbox.

Hi thank you for replying. Yes that was included in the trilogy I bought. I just checked my account purchases and it's definitely in there. When I check in the store on xbox it says it's included with game pass and next to that buy to own rather than the usual you own this and if I click buy to own it tells me you already own this. Also in the store under the trilogy where it says in this bundle everything says owned except the hitman 3 access pass: hitman 2 standard but if I click on it and press buy now it tells me I already own it but it just won't install. It lets me try to install maybe because it on game pass but it won't install.
