Minecraft saved worlds either corrupted or unable to sync properly!

This is the second time it's happening. After expanding my world to above 500MB, it starts not sync properly and the saved world picture is a generic black and white picture. Eventually, it will come to the point when the file size becomes 0.1MB and when
trying to load it, it will say the file is corrupted. Thinking it could be a hardware issue, I sent the console for repair. It was returned and I was told it was all ok and the console was reset to factory settings. After losing one world, I set up a new one.
Again, after the size of the world goes above 500MB, the problems are starting again. I've tried a hard reset. I've changed from wifi to wire internet and nothing helps.

Is it a hardware or a software issue?

Please help as it's so frustrating?

    :)

  2. Corrupted save file on console

Xbox One-Minecraft. A power glitch during save created a corrupted minecraft saved game file, unable to sync. Need to restore from the cloud or lose months of work. Any way to do that?

    Syncing Data.

Tried to load up a world on minecraft and it says that I need to sync it in order to play it. I click sync and wait for it to complete which takes quite a while due to the world size. when it gets to 100% it comes up with a message saying "sorry we were
unable to sync at the moment" does this mean that my world has been corrupted.

when im talking about syncing im not on about the first sync when you click play game on the minecraft main menu, I mean when I select one of my saved worlds.

    Thanks

In order to provide better information, we would need to know which platform Minecraft is being played on.

I lost my progress on Minecraft after the "saving world" screen froze and I had to reset the game and my Xbox. How do I get my lost save back?

    Hi Sadie,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues with one of your worlds in Minecraft due to possible data corruption when the game was not saved properly.

Minecraft occasionally encounters an issue that can corrupt the save data of a world save. When this happens, the chunks in the game can be reset to how they were when the world was generated, or they can disappear completely. Many factors can cause corruption and, in some cases, can prevent the world from being opened at all. However, not all hope is lost if a world save is corrupted.

The process to fix a corrupt world can be a bit challenging and is not guaranteed to fix the world every time. Making frequent backups of your world will always be the best and safest way to make sure you can recover from a corrupt save file.

This method works if your world is saved in the cloud before it got corrupted on your local storage.

    1. Please go to network settings and go offline.

    2. Settings > All Settings > System > Storage > Manage Storage > view contents >select Minecraft (button with 3 lines) > manage game > saved data > delete from console. (Please make sure that your worlds are saved online before doing this)

    3. Hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to shut it down.

    4. Wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

    5. Go back online in settings.

    6. Launch Minecraft.

    7. Go to world 1, click A to sync, then click B to go back to your world menu. Go through and sync all worlds. Please do not load them yet, just sync them for now.

    8. Once all worlds are synced, quit Minecraft (home button, button with 3 lines, quit.

    9. Restart Minecraft.

I want to make sure that you will get all the assistance that you need. If the method that I shared did not work on your situation, I recommend that you submit a ticket directly to Minecraft support so you can be guided by Minecraft specialists.

In this way, we can be assured that your case will be logged, attended and monitored in a timely manner. Please use this link:

Can I get a copy of my 'corrupted’ Minecraft world from the Xbox cloud service?

Thanks. But my local save was not corrupted. It is that I did a Xbox factory reset. After that, I did try to re-sync my Minecraft world (500+MB) and the console said "the cloud save is corrupted".

Is it possible that I get the "corrupted" save from your cloud storage and then I can try to repair it? The Minecraft save is so precious to us. Is this possible?

    Whole minecraft world reseted

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with Minecraft world.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please be guided that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems.

To set your expectations properly, if something goes with the network and the device, the save data might not sync correctly, and an empty or corrupted file could be written in its place. If the cloud save was already overwritten by the new/empty or corrupted file, there is no way to recover your previous progress since it was not properly saved to the cloud after gameplay.

Kindly check for a Backup. To do this, open Files app on your iPad.

Navigate to On My iPad > Minecraft > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds.

See if any folders there contain your missing world (have a long string of letters/numbers as names).

If you have a backup, move it back into the correct minecraftWorlds folder.

And then look for a ‘Lost’ World Folder because Minecraft creates duplicate world folders. Check if there are other world folders inside minecraftWorlds that might contain your missing progress.

Next is to check iCloud sync by going Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage to see if Minecraft is listed.

If it was recently synced, you can restore it.

Then check for corrupt World files. If the world still appears in your Minecraft menu but is empty, the save file might be corrupt.

To give you a heads up, there’s no built-in way to recover corrupt files, but restarting the device and opening the game again can help.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
