Minecraft Running out of “data storage space”?

I’ve been playing minecraft for several years now using the bedrock edition. Not once have I ever seen what I’ve seen today.

Upon loading a world that I had recently started. I was able to load into the game world and begin to roam around.

It was then one of my friends joined me and we played for several hours. Then suddenly my friend got disconnected and so did I. I was left with text written across the screen stating,

“You are almost out of data storage space! Minecraft has restricted access to this feature until you clear up additional storage space.”

And so this is where I decided I would delete some old worlds that were false starts or copies of worlds from previous stages.

After deleting around 100 MB of world files. I restarted the game and opened the world my friend and I had been playing. Then not even a minute later, the game booted us and left me with the same words I mentioned above.

I then deleted Minecraft, reinstalled it, and still, nothing worked.

At this point in time, I am unable to play Minecraft. Does anyone have any suggestions that don’t involve factory reseting my console? Or has anyone else had this issue and found a way to resolve it?

Have you tried doing a hard reset/power cycle on your console?

Press and hold the Xbox logo on the front of the console until it switches off, waiting atleast 30 seconds before switching it on again

I've been having the same issue for a few months now. Getting tired of factory resetting my limited edition Xbox one S constantly, then having to download my profile.. Download my games.. Install them.. Download my resource packs.. Maps on the cloud.

I've done everything but the one thing I can't do.. Access the Xbox Cloud to make sure that there aren't an phantom images hogging cloud space, since like the internal storage, it's protected isolated storage that the user can't access.

No captures, because it's been factory reset about once a month for 3-4 months. No other games. No saves. The store doesn't work either for the same reason. I guess Microsoft doesn't want our money for Minecraft purchases any more...? People have been complaining
about this now going on for.. Almost 2 years now..? Personally? I'm done factory resetting my Xbox once a month. If Microsoft doesn't want to fix the issue.. I guess.. I'll just stop spending money.

There has to be a token with some stupid value that isn't being cleared by a routine that has been changed.

I have the same issue. It doesn't matter what world it is, I always get this message. I've created and deleted atleast 5 survival worlds and re-downloaded the game 3 times. Im using a 1TB hard drive and my most recent world to do this is 17MB. It seems
hard to believe that each world gets corrupted over and over again. This issue does not seem to be on my end, but on microsofts. Please fix this. Running version 1.12.0 Windows 10 edition.

I'm assuming you are on PC seeing as this thread was moved from the Windows section of the forums. Do you just have one storage device where you save everything Minecraft related or do you have two? Are you sure that world is not saving to a drive that is
almost full? With over 850 GB free, this error shouldn't be occurring if the world giving you trouble is saved on to the same drive. Then you say a world that is 17GB, way bigger than the other one, saves fine. it could be that world has a corrupted save.

I recommend re-installing the game and restarting your PC, make a copy of the saved world and delete the original one and then let us know if just that one world still cannot save.
