Minecraft Resource pack not loading when i try and join my friend

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble loading resource packs on Minecraft. This can be frustrating when you want to play with your friends. To better assist you, I would like to ask you a few questions:



- Have you tried downloading the resource packs separately before joining your friend's world?

- Are you able to load other worlds that have resource packs on them?

- Are you using the latest version of Minecraft and the resource packs?

- Is your main device an Xbox console or Windows PC?

Once we receive your answers to the questions above, we may suggest additional troubleshooting measures.

Hello Restart your Minecraft client and the issue should be fixed. If not, try another version of
Minecraft.

• When you join a lobby that requires a resource pack, it does not automatically download the pack and /resource does not work for you.
• When you join a lobby that requires a resource pack and it says "Attempting to send you the resource pack", but you never end up downloading the resource pack.
• If you know how to get to your folder already, skip to step 4. If not, start by going to "Options" in your Minecraft home screen.
• Then go to your "Resource Packs...".
• Then go to "Open resource pack folder".
• Now click on the ".minecraft" in the address bar of your Folder Explorer.
• You should now see a list of folders, find the one called "server-resource-packs" and go into it.
  
• If you can't find this folder, then right click in an empty area of your Folder Explorer and click "New", then "Folder". Name your new folder "server-resource-packs". This should fix your issue, you can stop here.
• And once in the folder, delete everything in the folder.

I just purchased Minecraft for Xbox for my daughter and she was loading her profile from her minecraft from her phone and now its stuck on loading resources packs?

Have you tried restarting minecraft?

I had a similar issue, and it seems three things helped resolve it:

First, my friend was too far away from their WiFi access point. After he moved from his own room to the living room (where the WiFi router was) we could connect.

Another time, I had a corrupt resource pack installed. I had to go to the settings, and reinstall all resource and add on packs I had.

After that, I was able to connect.

And thirdly, when I played with two of my friends, it made a difference in which order we connected.

When the two were already playing, I was unable to join their world.

When I connected to friend A first, and then friend B joined, it worked.
