Minecraft redeem

Hey guys,

I have bought minie craft on my 360, then again on my xbox one. To have it on my windows 10 laptop, do I need to purchase it for a third time?

Seems harsh to get me to sign in on my xbox account to buy the games, which has already bought it on your two other platforms.

Hey EVERE5T15 -

To answer your question - Yes, you will have to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 again, in spite of owning it on Xbox consoles. The PC version of Minecraft was the original one before Microsoft purchased Minecraft from Mojang so it's not one of our Play
Anywhere titles.

That said, if you previously owned Minecraft on PC or on Mac,
you can get a free copy for Windows 10.

It looks like you redeemed Minecraft Starter Collection, not Minecraft for Windows Starter Collection. The one you redeemed is the console version of the game.

so xbox minecraft code cant be used to redeem java minecraft?

Thank you for responding to my question. But when he tried to redeem the code again it said it was redeemed already, He access to Minecraft Bedrock edition but it still says he needs to buy Java Edition. He's using the same account he redeemed the code on the Minecraft Launcher.

Actually it's a "Minecraft for Windows 10" and the redeem code is "F9C43-HD6HT-9KYKK-Y3DQJ-4WPFZ" but when I went to redeem it on the computer it displayed as already redeemed.
