Minecraft Realms Nintendo Switch

Ok, so I was trying to join one of my friend's realms for the first time on Nintendo Switch. I received an invite from him, so I went to accept it, but a message popped up saying that I couldn't play online multiplayer because of how my Microsoft account
was set up. I went to the link (aka.ms/accoutsettings) it listed that would allow me to change my settings. After I went there, I went to my account page and clicked on the privacy tab near the top of the screen. On that screen, there were no tabs related
to online play. The tabs it has listed are "Browsing history, Search history, Location activity, Voice activity, Media activity, Product and service activity, Product and service performance, Cortana's Notebook, LinkedIn, and Health activity." I have no idea
what to do to allow for online play on my Switch through this Microsoft Account. I've tried searching for similar issues online, but I've come up with nothing.

My game allows me to join servers with the same account logged in, just for some reason it won't allow me to accept realms invites.

It might just be that I need to do something in the Online Safety tab, but I can't find that anywhere either.

Have you an active Nintendo Switch Online Subscription? I ask this because I found the following Q/A on Minecraft Nintendo Switch FAQ:

Can I play Realms on this edition?

Yes, Realms is available on the Bedrock edition of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch. To play online on a Nintendo Switch, you need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, so this is a requirement for playing on Realms. More information about Nintendo Switch Online can be found here.

Furthermore, can you post the entire error message (better a screenshot/photo)?

Are you referring to the FAQ found on Xbox Support, "Minecraft for Nintendo Switch FAQ"? Specifically
this quote,

"Where are Servers and Realms?

Realms is now available on Nintendo Switch by applying the latest game update. Servers will be enabled soon in a future update, stay tuned to our News Channel and other social media platforms to see the newest and latest features."

If so, I believe you are referring to Realms on the Switch which requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription purchased through Nintendo. You will also need to purchase a Realms subscription from Mojang to even get started. Open Minecraft and choose to
create a new Realm to see pricing for the Switch.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch. Based on the message you received, it may be possible that your account doesn't have the correct permissions to access online multiplayer across different
devices.

Is your account a child or adult account? Players under 13 years old will have online multiplayer disabled by default with Minecraft and
won’t be able to join Realms or servers unless a parent changes their account settings.
For help with changing these account settings, you will need to change your
Privacy and Online settings of the Xbox Live account.
