This still keeps showing up even though I already had multiplayer, and joining clubs enabled on both the web privacy settings and Xbox settings.

Allow daughter to access Minecraft Realms

Minecraft Realms uses "Clubs" for invitations / membership so you need to enable that for her to access them. Also you need to allow multiplayer games.

Minecraft realm for family, children can't login

    From Minecraft/Microsoft -

    https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-multiplayer-server-safety

    “Join Multiplayer Games” Settings
If you have your settings set to block joining multiplayer games, you can’t join any multiplayer games in Minecraft, including shared local worlds, Realms or servers. To enable multiplayer in Minecraft, make sure this setting is set to ‘Allow.’

However, just like ASCllnaut, that setting was already turned on for my children. In other words I'm in the same boat, we can play on the LAN but not on a realm.

Nintendo Switch can no longer access cross-platform Realm

Hello, my name is Tadeu, I am an Independent Consultant and a member of the Microsoft Xbox community, just like you.

I apologize for the issue you are experiencing.

    I am here to help.

I hope everything is going well and thank you for contacting me.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue with Minecraft.

In order for you to play Minecraft with your daughter across platforms like your Switch and your iPhone and on your Realm, you need to make sure that both devices are linked to the correct Microsoft accounts and have the appropriate multiplayer permissions enabled. Specifically on the Switch, you'll need to link your daughter's Microsoft account and make sure that multiplayer access is allowed.

Please check out the steps below.

    1. Make sure both devices have the correct Microsoft accounts linked:

On the Switch, if you haven't already, link your daughter's Microsoft account to her Nintendo profile in the Switch's system settings.

On her iPhone, make sure she's signed in to the Minecraft app with her Microsoft account.

    2. Check multiplayer permissions.

On the Switch, navigate to the Online Safety settings in the game and make sure that You can join multiplayer games is enabled for her account.

On iPhone, make sure multiplayer permissions are also enabled in Minecraft settings.

3 Add each other as friends on Xbox Live.

If you haven't already, add each other as friends on Xbox Live through your in-game Minecraft friends list.

    4 Join the Realm

Have your daughter launch Minecraft on her iPhone and join your Realm through the "Friends" tab or via an invite from your Switch.

You can also host the world on your Switch and have her join through the Friends tab if the world is set to public.

Please note that this is a public forum only. I will respond as soon as possible, and I apologize in advance for any delay in responding. I am just a user trying to provide information and knowledge that may be useful to others. I am not a Microsoft employee.

    Best regards, Tadeu

Can I allow my son who is 12 to play multiplayer minecraft?

Hi, JustinLin_919! thank you for reaching out.

My name is AJ, I'm an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.

Are you getting an error code/message stating your son's profile is not allowed to access multiplayer features on Minecraft? if you are, then you will need to change his account's Online Privacy and Security settings, as stated on this support page:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-onli...

Please keep in mind that if Minecraft is rated above your son's age limit, you will need to manually allow his profile permission to access the game.

To access realms, the three main settings that need to be enabled are:

    - You can play with people outside of Xbox

    - You can create and join clubs

    - You can join multiplayer games

Cross play on a child account

    Hello,

Some games require you to enable cross-play in

the game settings to be able to do this - this doesn’t

    apply to Minecraft though.

You don't need to manually enable cross play for Minecraft Realms as this is already set up, just make sure your son and his friend’s account privacy settings allow them to play online. To adjust these settings, sign in to the Privacy & online safety page.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help...e-online-safety-and-privacy-settings-xbox-one

Note: If your son is on a child account, an adult from the same Microsoft family will need to sign in and change these account settings.

To play Minecraft Realms, you need to allow the following settings:

“You can play with people outside of Xbox Live”

“You can create and join clubs”

    “You can join multiplayer games”

When adjusting any account settings, make sure to select ‘submit’ to confirm and save these changes.

Set the above settings to allow and your son should be able to play online with friends. Although if you experience any issues with this, here is a multiplayer troubleshooting page:

    Minecraft Realms FAQ

In case needed, I’ll leave the instructions to join a Realm below:

To join a Realm on Minecraft, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Realms Menu from the Main Menu

    of Minecraft.

    2. From the list of Realms available to the player, select

the one they want to join.

    3. Once selected, that particular Realm will become

    available to the player.

Each Realm that a player joins first requires an invitation, indicated by the flashing mail icon.

A Realm's current status is indicated by the colored

dot next to it: green means that the Realm is open

and available to join, yellow indicates that it expires soon, and red indicates that the Realm has expired or has

    been closed by the owner.

Any questions, I’m happy to help! :)
