Minecraft Realms, "Can't invite the provided name."

Joined and paid for Minecraft Realms.

Successfully uploaded a world.

My grandson created xbox.com account

My grandson shows as online when i get on my xbox.com account

My grandson and I can message each other while on xbox.com account

While he is online, when I try to invite him to play Minecraft, I get the message "Can't invite the provided name."

I have windows 10 and good internet connection. I have gone into settings > gaming > xbox networking and my NAT type is 'Moderate' and my Server connectivity is 'connected'.

I have used his correct online xbox.com name, with letters capitalized/lower case as he sees it on his screen.

We are friends with each other on xbox.com.

We have tried over and over. We use Zoom to communicate with each other while we try.

No matter what I do, I seem to get "Can't invite the provided name."

As I understand it, since I am paying for the subscription, he does not have to have a subscription. I should be able to invite him to play, once he has set up an account on xbox.com. Any help anyone could provided would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does your grandson have a Gold subscription? As it is needed to be able to play online.

If he has a child account then the parent account will need to change the settings to allow for online gaming.

Hey there! You're going to need to verify which version of Minecraft you have. There are two on the Xbox One that you could have.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is no longer supported. It's playable, but it can't be found in the Store and does not receive updates. This version of the game does not have Realms access.

Minecraft/Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition/Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (All just different names for the same game) is the version with Realms that are cross-compatible.

Java version (only available on PC) is not compatible with Xbox.

If your child's friend has the Realm set up on the correct version of Minecraft, you just need a Gold Subscription. Realm hosts pay the monthly fee to keep the Realm online. The friend will need to invite your friend/add them as a Realm member from their
Xbox or PC, then your child will receive a little envelope thing on their Minecraft menu. That is the Realm invitation. Once that's accepted, they should be able to join the Realm.

dabear64 has Minecraft Windows 10 and bought a realm (da bear clan) and who has Minecraft Java can not get into the realm. has been invited, yet I see no invitations to join. has tried the email link to the realm as well,
but still can't link together or join or play in da bear clan realm. Please advise so we can enjoy our new minecraft realm.

Your friend will need to invite you to the realm

Tell your friend to open up Minecraft

When on the worlds screen, he will see his realm. Next to his realm name there will be a pencil

Click on the pencil

Now go to members section on the left menu. On the right section right at the bottom there will be a section for friends. Your name should be there(if you are friends on Xbox).

Next to your name there should be an "invite button"

He should just click "invite" button.

Now give it a few minutes.

Open your Minecraft and go to the "Friends" tab. Your realm invite should be here an will be indicated by an envelope
