    Minecraft Realm Settings on the Nintendo Switch Using my Microsoft Account


    Hello everyone,

    Recently I have experienced problems with my account on Switch in which it makes a pop-up that states, "You cannot play on Realms because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on aka.ms/account
    settings." I am on a laptop and have a Switch only. I am trying to set up a Realm in hopes that I can meet up with a friend. He has a beta version that the Switch does not currently offer. I have hopes that he can join me because I cannot currently join him.
    I have been working hard to find where I can change these settings but have not been able to find a place where I can change the Realm settings. For me it has only been showing a tab labled, "Privacy," that I can click on that does not allow me to change my
    Minecraft settings. I appologise for having to post this in the Xbox community but figured that since the Switch is also a gaming console that it would be best to come here for help. If anyone knows where I can find settings that allow me to make my own Realm
    while not having to use a Xbox it would be highly appreciated.

    I'm trying to set up an Xbox Live or Microsoft Account (including Realms access for Child Accounts!)

    If you’re playing on a Xbox, Sony PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, you’ll need to make sure you have that console’s online subscription service active. That means you need an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online as needed by your console.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch. Based on the message you received, it may be possible that your account doesn't have the correct permissions to access online multiplayer across different
    devices.

    Is your account a child or adult account? Players under 13 years old will have online multiplayer disabled by default with Minecraft and
    won’t be able to join Realms or servers unless a parent changes their account settings.
    For help with changing these account settings, you will need to change your
    Privacy and Online settings of the Xbox Live account.
