Minecraft Ray tracing on series X and S a thing yet?

Ok so only certain games will have ray tracing? Do you know if any games that were on the xbox one will be capable of it on the series s/x? Also I’ve seen videos showing the series X’s ray tracing abilities and they used minecraft as an example. Do you now
if this is real and if minecraft will support ray tracing or is this unconfirmed?

One of the main reasons I plan on buying one of the new consoles is for the ray tracing abilities (especially on minecraft)

Ray tracing isn't about resolution. Ray tracing is about lights, shadows and reflections. There are three main types of RT that you'll see on Series X/S. These are:

• Ray traced global illumination.
• Ray traced reflections
• Ray traced shadows

It's unlikely you'll see all forms of RT in games as it is a very demanding graphics feature.

There hasn't been any videos of note released about the true ray tracing capabilities on Series X/S yet, but there are loads of videos about RT on gaming PCs if you're curious about what it will look like.

But regardless of what TV/Monitor you are using, if a game has Ray Tracing it will be available to you.

Ray Tracing is on a per-game basis on both the Series S and the Series X. Some games have it, some do not. If a game has Ray Tracing it will normally be in it's options menu. Some games such as Watch Dogs Legion have ray tracing enabled by default.

Unlike Series X, the S model does not have RT for some games that the Series X has.

Ray tracing has to be hard coded into the game either during development or post development with a patch. It is possible that some premium Xbox One titles may be given an RT patch for Series S/X we will wait and see.

Be aware, there are various types of RT. Ray traced shadows, RT global illumination and RT reflections are the main forms of Ray Tracing. I'm a PC gamer with an RTX 2080 graphics card and have been playing certain games with RT ON such as Metro Exodus, Control,
Wolfenstein Youngblood and of course, Minecraft. Raytracing is a 'feast for the eyes' certainly, but it's also very demanding on the hardware.

Yes, RT on Minecraft for Series X is real. But if and when it will be available, your guess is as good as mine. The footage seen was from a demo and the performance isn't that great.

The game on the Series S doesn't look as great as the Series X. There's no ray tracing and you can't get 120hz as well. But it performs way better than the Xbox One for sure.
