Minecraft PS4 unlinking

My little brother's Minecraft PS4 is for some reason linked to my microsoft account.

I don't remember allowing this, and I don't want it, because I use my microsoft account for my Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition.

So I followed some advice I had to....really really dig for, actually, and signed in on his ps4 and went to settings-profile-unlink.

I was given a message saying "Unlink Successful"

So I assumed it was good to go, and my brother tried to sign into his own account.

I assumed because it was unlinked that he could sign into his own account, because my account was no longer associated with his ps4 because it said the unlink worked.

It spat back in our face by saying "Sign into your previous account".

I assumed because it was NO LONGER CONNECTED to my microsoft account that he wouldn't have to use the microsoft account that was "Succsessfully Unlinked".

I'm having him try restarting his ps4 and trying again but this is super annoying because I don't want him on my microsoft account, I don't want him to have anything to do with any of my information and I don't remember ever giving him my information in the
first place.

He's not trustworthy with my information, he's a 12 year old with a habit for spending money that isn't his. Regardless of whether or not I have anything connected to my Microsoft, I don't want him anywhere near any of my personal information because I don't
want to have to childproof my personal account "just in case".

But playing video games is also the only thing he does at all ever and he wants to play on the minecraft servers and he's been bugging me for days to fix what is apperantly unfixable.

Do I have to keep my account linked to his Minecraft ps4 for him to use servers even after unlinking my account "successfully"?

Also I guess im posting this under 'xbox' because there's no better option and I can only edit my linked account for minecraft on nintendo switch/ps4 through xbox which is odd but I can deal with that part so pardon me if I'm in a weird section

Try going to:

https://account.live.com/consent/Manage

it's the place where you manage websites and apps that you've connected to your Microsoft account. from there find PlayStation, PS, or something similar and remove them. that should allow you to connect your Microsoft account to a different PS account.

Same issue, I ned to change my daughter account on minecraft.

I click on unlink, it warns me about loosing all purchases, I accept it, he answers unliked successfully.

But when I tried to login on my account it says already used.

It is like the "unlink" it is not working, it says unliked but it isn't.

How to solve it?

Microsoft account is optional and not required to play Minecraft on PS4:tm:. It's a free account that you can use to log into a device. It allows Minecraft players on PS4:tm: to play with others on non-PS4:tm: devices such as iOS, Android, Xbox One, Switch and Windows 10.

A Microsoft account also allows portability of your purchases from Marketplace (non-PS4 devices) or Minecraft Store (PS4) to other devices and platforms. To create a new Microsoft account, go to:

account.microsoft.com

Note Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation:tm: Network account, it cannot be unlinked without losing access to rights and Minecoins on other platforms.

Please note that the account must have an Xbox Social Profile.

if the problem persists, Unlink the Microsoft Account from the game and relink as shown below:

Start Minecraft and go to Settings > Profile;

Select Unlink Microsoft Account;

Check the three checkboxes to confirm that the account cannot access the Store, use cross-play and continue;

Select Unlink;

When the "Unlink Successfully" box appears, go back and sign in with your Microsoft account again.

If you are still not successful:

Logout All Devices to which the account has been connected;

Completely turn off all devices;

Just use the console and try to log into Minecraft with your Microsoft Account.

Maybe your Microsoft account has been linked to a different ps4 Minecraft account and never unlinked? You might just have to make a new Microsoft account to link it to.

As per the
PS4 FAQ: "After a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation™ Network account, it can’t be unlinked without loss of access to entitlements and Minecoins on other platforms."

I hope this was able to clarify any confusion this might have caused.
