also minecraft preview version works, so i bet its something wrong with the update

So even more confusing, the minecraft preview(which I just downloaded) works but not the base version

I've tried it in the minecraft preview and it works fine, but i would prefer to play it on regular minecraft since I play a lot of cross-platform with my friends and they wouldn't be able to join me.
