    Minecraft post migration java account stolen due to the migration.


    Essentially I migrated 3-4 days post the migration deadline (which is...really dumb to have a deadline by the way, so many better ways to have migration that extend indefinitely in the user's favor.) and now my Minecraft java account username somehow didn't transfer with my Microsoft migration and now I only have my Microsoft account capable of logging into the Minecraft launcher but when i try to sign in to java it tells me my username is taken.

    things to consider;
    -this is a unique username, someone else deciding to claim it microseconds after the migration before i tried to claim it on the new launcher would be like the lottery winning statistic of several dinosaur extinction events happening in the same second. Its not something like minecraftplayer1234.
    -I've tried getting help with support outside of the community suggestions but Microsoft despite being a billion dollar company for some reason doesn't have any live chat services, email services, or virtual assistants outside of help for office 365, I'm sure you know what I mean since your here.
    -I tried getting help through the original Minecraft help line, that produces an automated email telling you to essentially go bother microsoft, the service is dead.

    I'd really just like my java account back, the fact that my old account on java edition which is the only edition I care to play essentially was stolen from me because I didn't keep up with one of many hundred games posting on their own niche website, because I didn't feel like playing minecraft at the time, is BEYOND silly.

    I don't expect any answers but for those few lost souls trudging this backwoods forum, if you somehow give me the keys to fix this or elevate it to microsoft's attention, that would be swell, really just wanna play minecraft with friends again.

    well if I'm supposed to contact this community forum about it, what's stopping you? Is it just some arbitrary and anti-consumer company policy put in place?

    Nope! still no button, but i did notice something interesting, you see, on steps 2.1 and 2.2 it mentions redeeming a code...now heres the fun part, turns out i did both of those, turns out i actually did steps 1- 8 entirely already on September 25th 2023.
    the reason i can confirm this, is because the reason the button is missing is because i've already done it, i figured that out by going to here

    which takes us here and oh my it says i already own it!

    Included is me signed in to this account to prove i do infact own it, but if you need more proof.

    ..thats me! in the launcher, with my already claimed and migrated microsoft account and both versions of minecraft!

    so that gets us all the way back to the original problem, with new insights.
    turns out i'd already migrated only a few days after the original deadline. (still stupid to have one, just to reiterate.)
    I'd already claimed my migrated copy of bedrock and java.
    and now theres one little problem left, you will notice in the above screenshot you see the words "Player", highlighted below.

    when i type "***********D", my username, it still gives me this, the same thing its been giving me since september, the first day i migrated.

    It cant be taken, the only account to ever own that name on java is MY ACCOUNT.
    which means that the account was "deactivated" and not deleted, which means my username is just in the void, and i cannot play java.
    so with all that out of the way, lets address more of your points.

    yea that wasnt complicated to understand, however regardless of the intention i need you to understand that that FAQ is missing stuff and support on that link doesnt exist. Seriously half of this stuff in this image doesn't even exist in the article.

    I know your probably scripted to say that but you might as well just flat out tell me to toss my complaints and feedback in the garbage bin. Plus, feedback doesnt get my account back, it just means i yell into the void, and get an automated email telling me my feedback is appreciated or some corporate blanketing of that nature roughly 5 minutes later. clearly even with 10,000+ people yelling at you guys to stop stupid stuff like the mob vote you dont listen so what hope does 1 complaint/feedback have.

    I really dont wanna sit here every time and throw your corporate book back at you and play games or whatever, its not hard to give me the account's data back, or reinstate it properly.
    Can we just get the proper people involved and get it over with? theres tons of evidence that your company has put out that the data is still there but not deleted for security concerns and name opening at a later date.

    I probably sound agitated, and to be honest i am, and I'm justified. but let me be clear its not directed at you, just the company you represent and the scripts they force you to give me.

    alright so here's what's happened. Minecraft.net has told me to go to you guys, you guys have told me to go to them, and then they have sent me yet another automated email stating to contact you, so what now?

    now after all that, I am forced to wait for a response, which surprisingly comes quite promptly by...oh, its the same email as the first time, from the same website, from the same filled out form, from the same zendesk auto-reply bot.

    I'm sure you see what i'm getting at, essentially both of your support teams are sending me back to each other, which is completely unhelpful.

    can you please actually give me help and not wild goose chase redirection?

    Lets clarify a couple things as it seems your end is misunderstanding my presented information,

    Firstly your quote;

    let's be extremely clear that it is objectively by design not in favor of the consumer base as a whole, not just me as an individual, I think any reasonable person would understand that, and in fact there are quite a heavy amount of posts on online forums talking about that exact thing.
    so just to quickly reiterate, i am aware of the difference between a java account username, and a microsoft account "gamertag", both of them are *Removed PII*, and the java one came first, I wouldn't be here talking about minecraft java editions profile name if my microsoft gamertag was the issue.

    Secondly, your next quote;
    "We just want to clarify the details about the Minecraft username which is now called Minecraft: Java Edition Profile Name is not the same as Gamertag."
    This was never in question, in fact i've stated this exact knowledge at least twice now. I would provide more pictures but those seem to get completely ignored, and your capable of just scrolling up.

    Thirdly, your next quote;

    This article is particularly extra useless, given the second quote. It's ironic you mention that i "May" use the same name, when I already do, that's the entire point of me being here is to claim my original java edition profile name that seems to be locked in the void because the "original java edition profile" was deactivated in the migration but the name hasn't been unlocked for someone to grab yet, I'm just trying to get my name that i owned on my java edition profile before i migrated and that account was deactivated.

    "Since the Minecraft: Java Edition Profile Name is in-game concern, anything that you may want to ask regarding this name should be addressed by the Minecraft Support."

    the fact that it just nukes your stuff is utterly insane, seriously why. its not so complicated to make a system where it stonewalls you into migrating if you happen to be a late comer like me via a redirect when trying to access old launchers/websites, instead of destroying all of your information and your account. I know its not your decision to make kathy but honestly, whoever made that decision should be fired for anti-consumer practices, I paid for the game, i shouldn't be locked out of it based on some arbitrary rules with an arbitrary time scale.

    regardless, you did at least give me something to go on, so ill follow up with that. I dont expect anything though given how much microsoft has been destroying all of its virtual assistance and support systems, most of your links are dead, 404's, VA and telephone numbers no longer work or redirect, and a lot of "contact us" options are just greyed out now or instant redirects.
