Minecraft Pocket Edition Update

Discus and support Minecraft Pocket Edition Update in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I'm confused as to changing my "privacy and online settings", I'm reading that we have to have Xbox live to go on servers?     I'm confused as to changing my "privacy and online settings", I'm reading that we have to have Xbox live to go on servers? I don't know why this update is making it difficult to go on the servers, most of the servers were empty and now with this people are
    going to move on to Fortnite.

    Currently, cross-platform only works for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition and Minecraft: Pocket Edition. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is standalone, as far as I'm aware, and will be until the Better Together update which is to be released "this

    Connect to external server using Windows 10 Edition

    With Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, you can connect and play online with friends on Pocket Edition as well as the Xbox One Edition. However, until the full rollout of the upcoming Better Together update for Minecraft, you aren't able to connect to servers
    outside of realms and what I've previously mentioned.
