Minecraft pocket edition and inviting friends?

Hello,

I recently downloaded Minecraft to my sons Amazon tablet. Today I set up my account too and wanted to try to be invited to my sons world, but the game will not allow me to. It said something about Microsoft parental controls not allowing him to invite me.

I then went on to my laptop to try to change the parental controls but i cannot seem to find anything about Game invites.

How do I fix this?? We both have Microsoft accounts and his is already linked to mine.

This seems like a problem with the mojang company and something with the recent update so contact mojang support to get more insight

I would think that lies in specific permissions for the realm? I would guess that it's not a setting on the Microsoft account itself, but how the realm is secured. I don't have a lot of first hand experience in this, but take a look at settings for the
realm? Maybe invite yourself to the realm?

Another thing to check would be what edition of Minecraft it is for the "Pocket Edition"? I'd check if there is a proper Minecraft edition on iOS which might cause the issue, as opposed to the Xbox One edition being the cause, it could be that there is
a Minecraft (bedrock edition) which would be cross-platform, and not the "Pocket Edition"

Let us know if that doesn't seem to be the case and we can see some other steps for investigation.

Hello Izzy,

We understand that you and your friend are attempting to join the same world on Minecraft Pocket Edition.

Are you both using the same devices, i.e. both a phones, tablets?

Or is your friend playing on a different platform?

It might be best to review the Minecraft PE FAQ for further details regarding everything Pocket Edition.

Try this and let us know if this works.

With Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, you can connect and play online with friends on Pocket Edition as well as the Xbox One Edition. However, until the full rollout of the upcoming Better Together update for Minecraft, you aren't able to connect to servers
outside of realms and what I've previously mentioned.
