Minecraft PE - unable to connect to world

Me and a friend have been playing in a world together for a while. I'm the world's creator and its data is saved directly in my device. But apparentely he can't join the world no longer, and the message "Unable to connect to world" appears.

The error only occurs with this specific world. I tried creating a new one, and he was able to join it normally, and we were able to play together with no problems at all.

I already tried making a copy of the world and changing its settings but nothing has solved the problem so far.

I have seen this when one player is on a beta version of Minecraft and the other isn't.

If one of you is on a PC, is the PC version of Minecraft moded?
