Minecraft PE Marketplace and XBox Live child accounts

I've got a question about how the new marketplace purchases work with child accounts. Previously, I had to buy in-app purchases like skin packs 2 times, once for my kids who use kindles, and once for the ipad users in the family. Now, it appears I have
to buy each item 4 times, once for each account? I just purchased the Greek mythology mashup pack on my account (parent), and my kids cannot access the content, though this note on the

Marketplace FAQ made me believe they could:

"Note If you’re a parent with associated child accounts, make sure that you make purchases with your own account, as child accounts do not provide a payment method for this."

Is this correct that I will need to make each purchase 4 times? Can I even make purchases with the child accounts? From that note it sounds like I cannot.

how to add child to xbox live without a console so that minecraft realms work?

We're trying to use Minecraft PE to connect to a realm. The child account was created from Minecraft PE on iOS, the account appears under the parent Microsoft account family, but does not appear under the Parent Xbox Live family.

The child was successfully invited to a realm created by the parent, but when the child tries to connect, gets the message "You cannot play on Realms because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety settings
on Xbox.com".

However, the child can't change those settings, the parent needs to, but the parent can only change them from the Xbox account view (where, in this case, the child does not show up).

We do not have an Xbox console. We just want to play MInecraft with family and friends on a realm.

Microsoft support says there's no way to add the child without an Xbox console. I wonder why Minecraft PE walked us through creating a child account in the first place?

To clarify, that FAQ that you are looking at refers only to the purchase of Minecraft Coins for in-game purchases. However, if the child accounts themselves cannot currently purchase the coins using their accounts on their respective platforms, you will
want to reach out to
Mojang Support. We don't have any information regarding their processes and would not want to speculate on how their processes work.

Thanks for the response. I realize that that was for Minecraft Coins. Essentially, this is what happened:

I wanted to buy the greek mashup pack for my son. I read the marketplace FAQ, saw that I should buy the coins as the parent account, and did so. The coins then ended up in my account. It was then that I realized the problem - I could not transfer the
coins to my son to use in the marketplace, only use them myself. I did so, hoping that the purchase would apply to the kids accounts too, but now I'm the proud owner of the mashup pack and I'll have to buy again for my son (and eventually daughters if they
decide they want it too).

I guess I'd suggest changing that message to indicate that the coins should be purchased with the child accounts (and cross fingers that child account permissions allow it). I haven't tried that yet myself. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will run into
this.
