Minecraft online game issue

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me resolve a problem. I have an xbox live gold account and have a profile for my son under this. Earlier today he went online to play minecraft 360 with one of his school friends for the first time and this worked fine. We
came back later to do this again but for some reason this time the 'online game' check box was greyed out and he couldn't invite his friend to join the session. I have tried it again under my profile and it worked fine, and I also tried both profiles on the
xbox one version and this also worked fine. I have checked the permissions on my son's profile on the 360 and set these to allow everything but it still won't work. I've checked for internet connection issues and there isn't any problem there. Does anyone
have any suggestions? Thanks

Minecraft

Can anyone please list all the Minecraft games in release by date? We are away to buy a couple for our daughter for Xmas, but confused which ones are new or seasons etc

Actually we have already bought one which is Minecraft Xbox One Edition

I'm pretty sure Minecraft is just Minecraft. One game, Minecraft. There is also Minecraft story mode, that is a very different game, a telltale series.

Can't play downloaded games.

Hey there Night,

Happy Wars is an online only game for Gold members, so you won't have access to that game as a silver member.

Are you getting that same download error when you try to download Minecraft?

Are you trying to download with the account that you purchased it on and the console you purchased it on?

If Minecraft is giving you an issue when you try to play multiplayer online, that will also be an issue with being a silver member, as online play is exclusive to Gold accounts.

Does your son have a gold account on the 360?

On the xbox one you only need one gold account per console, on the 360 each account needs its own gold membership.

Thanks for the reply. He doesn't have his own gold account, he is just under my one. I didn't realize we needed a separate one for the 360. However, he did manage to play an online session earlier in the day so I assumed we had the right access.

Yeah we do, we both play other online games together such as battlefield with no issues, only minecraft has given us an issue.

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search on the Microsoft forum and found a publication by Rodrigo Oliver, an independent advisor, where he mentions the reasons why perhaps you cannot play in multiplayer for the moment:

Wait times are due to server capacity and player number/demand.

Queues are necessary to ensure that all players have a good gaming experience.

I believe the servers are being updated regularly to mitigate this, but for now, and given the time of year, wait times are longer than usual.
