    Minecraft on Xbox One Keyboard Issue


    Hi I have recently been getting back into Minecraft, and purchased a mouse and keyboard setup for my Xbox Series X and unfortunately it appears that either a recent system update may have brought back an issue from 2017. The issue is that whenever you have a controller connected and attempt to open chat on the keyboard it only opens the Minecraft chat menu, not the Xbox keyboard menu that actually allows me to type and upon hitting enter on the keyboard it does not submit the message it only closes the Xbox keyboard, which then requires either mousing to the message send button or using the controller D-pad to select send message and hit A.

    TLDR: Minecraft on Xbox physical keyboard not fully working for chat.

    Minecraft Bedrock Windows 10 Edition can't find my keyboard. What to do?

    Please open the on-screen keyboard:

    - Go to Start > Search and click on on-screen keyboard.

    - Then, please open Minecraft in window mode (not fullscreen) and see if you can play it using the on-screen keyboard.

    This will let us know if this is an issue with Minecraft not recognizing keyboard inputs or if this is an issue with your particular keyboard (maybe the driver).

    I don't know how, but Minecraft automatically got fixed without censoring keyboard. Thanks for answering my question.

    No this is not how the game is supposed to function. Up until recently you were able to have a controller on, and receive game audio while also playing using a keyboard and mouse. Now when you have a controller connected trying to input a command, will only open the chat, there will be no /.

    There is also no way to use the enter key like on the PC versions, basically the keyboard does not function as it previously did. You’d know that if you actually tried to operate the game.

    Minecraft Bedrock Edition supports both keyboard and mouse

    Games like PUBG, Fortnite only support keyboard for extra buttons
