Minecraft on Xbox One - Could not connect: Outdated client!

After the latest Minecraft update, I can't reach my Minecraft Realms saved game. I get the "Could not connect: Outdated client!" error. Yes, I know my Xbox One needs to be updated, but I see no way to get the update.

I've checked for updates per the standard instructions, but I see no updates available. Click on the "Check Store" option that pops up on my Xbox? Sure did, but there is no "update" option when the Microsoft Store pops up. The only option shown is to buy Minecraft. No thanks, already have it and don't want to pay for it again...

So, I closed the software and restarted it... Did not help. Went to the Xbox home screen and selected "Manage game and add-ons." No updates shown on the "Manage Minecraft" screen. Okay, so then I restarted my Xbox as instructed. Did not help. The forum help and generic posts from Microsoft are not helpful because their instructions for getting the update do not work.

This happens every time there is a Minecraft update. I have no problem getting the update on my PC version of Minecraft. But, the only way I can get the update on my Xbox One is to spend 30 minutes to uninstall, re-download, and reinstall it. Seems like thousands of users post the exact same issue - Is there actually something that works without having to do all of this after every Minecraft update? Please help. It should not be this difficult to manage updates!

It seems that, as you said. other players are experiencing the same issue.

May I know if you tried power cycling the console to see if you can force the update to appear?

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

Thanks so much for your quick feedback. I followed your instructions and now l'm able to get the update. Strange that powering down like this and unplugging worked, but can't argue with results. Thanks!

Thank you for keeping us updated. We need a little more information to ensure that we provide the correct solution. Is this issue occurring on an Xbox One, Xbox 360 or Windows 10 device? Are you able to join any of your other friends? Does your friend
get the same error message when he joins you? Be sure to let us know the results!

Im havibg the same issue on xbox one they have a newet verison than me and i cant update mine because there is no update available
