Minecraft on Xbox not opening

hey man, i had the same exact problem. i fixed it completely on accident. here is what i did.

1. sign out of your xbox account

2. open minecraft

3. AFTER opening minecraft sign in to minecraft

4. enjoy!

I open the minecraft launcher, log into my account, and then doesn’t let me play minecraft, i can use the minecraft launcher in the xbox app using gamepass, but cannot play minecraft

Thank you for your reply and the additional information.

No, uninstalling the game wouldn't delete your progress for it. Even if it did (which it won't), Xbox consoles automatically back up your saved data to the cloud when connected to the internet. Please rest assured that your data is safe.

Hello! thanks for replying! Its an xbox one s, in november i'll have had it for 4 years. i have ne external storage units plugged into my console. no error codes, just "this needs to be reinstalled". it only did it like 3 times out the the times i clicked. i went to my updates and stuff to see id thats what it meant, but nothing. by un installing it, like deleting it basically, would it delete my progress? (i really hope it doesnt) thanks in advance!!
