Minecraft on Xbox and PC with one license?

Hi

I installed Minecraft on my Xbox. I am paying for realm so I can play with my grandson who has his own Minecraft license on his PC. We play together frequently so I already know that an Xbox player can play with a PC player.

Watching videos I've learned that a lot of cool features and customization to your maps are sometimes only available with a windows PC where I can download and install various files and functions in the directory structures that support Xbox. I was hoping my Xbox license would allow me to run on 1 device at a time and that I could take advantage of my Windows 10 PC to customize my maps and ultimately play on my Xbox (Realm).

Today I purchased Xbox Ultimate to be able to play games on both platforms and just realized I can play Minecraft Dungeons for free but not the basic Minecraft. Seriously, what is so special about this game? Do I really need to purchase a full Minecraft license to be able to play on the xbox on Monday an the PC on Tuesday but never at the same time?

Any current 2021 information would be wonderful.

If it's only Minecraft it means that it is the Minecraft Bedrock Edition that is for Xbox only, the license of Minecraft Bedrock for PC is a different license. This is why we're experiencing the issue, xTCN123x.

Just a friendly reminder though that the license of the Minecraft game on PC is different from the one that is on Xbox, yes, they're both bedrock editions but the license is different.

The one that you have is Minecraft Bedrock for PC.

The promo or bundle is if you own Minecraft for Windows PC.

Unfortunately Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title and is not available through Game Pass for the PC. You would have to purchase the PC version of the game in order to play it o the PC.

Do license transfer from Xbox to PC?-- The license does not transfer from Xbox to PC as they are different platforms. So you would need to purchase the Minecraft for Windows 10.
